On the one hand, there's a secret group of guerilla revolutionaries fighting a secret war with a corrupt mob-run government. On the other there's a conspiracy kept so secret even the gods of death don't know about it. On a lot of other hands there's lost loves, terrible acts of evil, blatant trafficking of human souls, death within death, solidarity among horrible situations, tight friendships, laughing when the world looks like it's against you, and so much crime.
And at the center of it all, there's one little kid, the two men that are trying to keep him from knowing the worst of any of that, their giant demon driver, and his dog. They're a family.
(Book of Life/Coco/Grim Fandango crossover with an ensemble cast and a plot that covers a LOT of characters, but mostly Miguel so far.)

Alongside him is his best friend, Toby Domzalski, and their new friend, Claire Nunez. [Y/N] [L/N] is a sixteen-year-old girl who has been trying to keep the mystical world she knows a secret from her two childhood friends (who happen to be Jim and Toby) along with rising to the challenge to become this world she knows's champion, the Guardian.
[Y/N] knows the challenges ahead will be hard. She also knows that her two best friends have somehow stumbled upon her world. When the two worlds start to bleed into the other. And a plot by the descendant of the darkest of warlocks which somehow involves her best friend.
