“Hello, yes. I’m looking for Mr. Benjamin Solo. I am told this is his place of office. Is he in?”
“Is he expecting you, Ms…”
“Rey. And no, I don’t imagine he is.”
The woman—Maz, was it?—smiled softly in a way that didn’t reach her too-big eyes.
“Then I don’t *imagine* you’ll be meeting with him today. He’s due to leave momentarily.”
“Oh, it won’t take long, I can assure you—”
“You ‘eard her, girl,” The redhead grumbled, “Ben’s busy. Now piss off—”
“Armie,” Maz snapped, her eyes never leaving Rey. The gaze was cool, polite but distant. “We will tell him that you stopped by, Rey…”
“Kenobi. My name is Rey Kenobi.”
The redhead was already pushing the door closed, but he stopped when Maz’s hand came down on his forearm. Her eyes were no longer distant. They were, however, far colder, and flashed with something sharp.
“Please,” She said, the smile returning, “Come inside.”
In which a Traveller comes to town, seeking business with the Black Knight of Birmingham.
A Reylo/Peaky Blinders semi-crossover with A/B/O...undertones? I know, I don't get it either.

“Solo, think about it from my perspective. You want to be director of a field office one day, right? What would you do? Put a green agent with insufficient clearance on protection duty for a high value target? All because a more senior and experienced agent hates kids?!”
“Sir, with all due respect, I don’t hate kids”—actually, he’s pretty sure he does—“but I don’t think I’m the right fit for this job. Would you believe me as a preschool aide?”
After a harrowing undercover assignment, FBI agent Ben Solo decides to take on an “easy” witness protection case that turns out to be anything but.
Inspired by the timeless romantic classic, Kindergarten Cop.
But with heaping cup of swearing. And a half cup of smut. Add a teaspoon of inspiration from Witness. Plus a heavy dash of Bodyguard. Simmer on low for about 18 chapters, then bring to a roaring boil until done. Enjoy!
It was several months into her grad coursework when the assistant research position was pinned on the bulletin board outside of her advisor's office. It was handwritten in dark, looping ink on yellow legal paper, and she knew right away that the job was hers.
Just like she knew he was hers, that very first moment.
In which Ben is an absent-minded professor, and Rey is his grad student and just wants to take care of him.
All the myriad things he’d been—someone who made her laugh; the warmth on the other side of the bed; her best friend—those things, Rey had buried.
Rey left Ben two years, three months, and sixteen days ago. But who's counting?
