  1. The VHS version is definitely something special (especially with the un-enhanced/original sound - the DVD sounds much cleaner), although I did manage to wear out the tape a bit with all the watching.

    I love Magic Dance too, for the same reason. Somehow it always manages to make me smile.

    1. i have sympathy for your tapes .
      When i watch(ed) Labyrinth online last the picture was very light/had been "restored" or whatnot but really took away the creepy/dark aesthetic i remember as a child, because you couldn't see a whole lot, it made the film scarier i suppose.

      1. Yeah, the restored version doesn't seem as creepy as the original. But it does show more of the set. I realized watching the movie again last night, that there were a bunch of props that look better and stand out more with the fixed/restored graphics. So I guess losing a bit of the gloom helped bring forth the amazing designs of the puppets. (The helping hands still scare the heck out of me though).

        1. agreed . i distinctly remember drawing a picture of the hands scene when i first saw this film ( i was like 8). my mum was so confused
