I read this when the movie came out and it's so lodged in my brain I keep being surprised when I'm reminded that John Harrison is actually meant to be Khan instead of khans desperately loyal, in over his head, devoted follower just trying to do his best to save his friends and leader and painfully aware that he's far from the best one for the job but he's all they've got. I'm very fond of John Harrison...
