Summary
Girl meets boy. Boy meets girl. Boom, they fall in love and live happily ever after. That's how the story goes. But this isn't a fairytale and Katara isn't a princess. She's just a regular, degular, shmegular girl. And the prince? Well, he's caught between trying to find himself and continuing a legacy.
A modern, nonbending, AU where Zuko is good, Ozai isn't an evil dictator, and Azula isn't mentally ill or on the verge of a breakdown. Uncle Iroh is still Uncle Iroh.

(Aka, a retelling of ATLA but the Water Tribe is the one who attacks)

Summary
Crown Prince Zuko discovers his bending when he is five and his sister is three, and she’s the first person he tells, juggling a flame while she admires its beauty. When he shows the rest of his family, his mother’s chopsticks clatter to the table, and when Zuko looks to his father, his eyes are wide with shock.
His grandfather speaks first, the head of the table, and approval runs thick through his tone: “Well, look at that. A true prodigy, wouldn’t you agree, Ozai?”
“Indeed,” he hums.
//
(Princess Azula won’t summon her first flame—a guttering, timid thing—until she’s seven.)
//
Or, in a world where Zuko is the prodigy and Azula is the one banished, destiny shifts accordingly.

Summary
In AD Curtis's AU fic, The Hand that Rocks the Cradle, Aang was captured by the Fire Nation and raised there. Azula orchestrates an engagement between herself and the airbender, even though Aang has fallen in love with his waterbending teacher, Katara. When Ozai tries to kill Aang, Azula stabs him in the back, and Aang escapes with Katara.
In this sequel, Azula takes up her crown, despite her fractured mind. She plots against Katara, trying in vain to win Aang's love. Slowly, through many setbacks and humiliations, she begins to heal, and become the Fire Lord the world needs. Captain Raiden of the Royal Guard, a member of the White Lotus, supports Azula throughout this journey, as she learns what it means to let go.
This is an Azula redemption story.

Maybe don’t brag about the fact u killed the avatar? And maybe don’t call your self a child of Agni when he himself no longer sees u as worthy of such a title? Honestly did nobody else’s parents warn them not to upset dangerous spirits or risk being punished by said dangerous spirits?!?

Summary
A world where Azula is born when Zuko is ten.
Ursa dies a few minutes after her birth which leaves Zuko to take care of his new baby sister and raise her like he knows his mom would have.
Three years later, when Zuko is banished, he takes his toddler sister with him to find the Avatar. Ozai allows it on the condition that he must return Azula if she starts firebending. Zuko definitely doesn't lie and definitely doesn't send letters telling him Azula's firebending is horrible.

Summary
"It is always an honour to watch destiny unfold.”
Annoyed, she said, “This has nothing to do with destiny, Uncle. This was all our hard work.”
“Ah, but just as we cannot control the skies and seas, sometimes we cannot control the path our lives take.”
Azula nodded in acknowledgement, then shot back, “But do the tides command this ship, Uncle, or do I?”
Uncle smiled, “Point made. Lead on, my niece. But be wary of any incoming storms.”
For a moment, the world was still, and something tense settled on her shoulders. But she shook it off.
She had the Avatar, and soon she’d have the North.

Summary
In this AU, a lot of roles are swapped around, the Fire Nation is still a thing but instead, but it was the Southern Water Tribe that attacked instead of the Fire Nation, Zuko and Azula are the only two fire benders left in the nation's capital as all the other went off to fight or are already dead, Sokka is the banished Chief’s son on the hunt to find the Avatar and get his honor back, as for Katara you’ll have to wait for book two before seeing her at all. Now how about we jump into this fanfic?
Updates will maybe be around two to three chapters a month depending on my schedule.

Summary
Ozai is a careless leader. She learns this early on, wary of his scathing tongue and biting words, yet intrigued by how he doesn't hold back, even for the sake of diplomacy. This is not how you rule a country. This is how you start a civil war and lose all your allies.
Azula is careful, she picks and chooses and strikes when the time is right, not before and not after. She realizes that her father is a careless leader, and that, if left to him, the entire Fire Nation will be burnt to the ground. This will not do, Azula will be Fire Lord soon, and a ruler needs her subjects. Logically, the only thing to do in this case is seek the help of her dead brother, traitor uncle, and their miscreant group of friends that they seem to have acquired, including the avatar he was sent to kill.
