A huge snout broke the water first, fangs glittering, dark scales dancing with all the colors of sunset. And then sharp wavy fins along the spine, followed by a long, undulating body. Serpentine, in many ways, but appropriately adjusted for the environment.
The massive head swung up high above Aziraphale, then lowered gently down and snuffled into his hair. “Hi, angel. Sorry I’m late.”
