Summary
Written in both Zuko's and Katara's perspective. More realistic-ish take on what could possibly happen after the war in the romances, politics, and society.
Lots of slow tension build up. Action and adventure. Descriptive world writing that hopefully remains true to the original animation.
***
Whether they were willing to admit it or not, the last Agni Kai with Azula had sealed the bond between Zuko and Katara.
The war has passed, and Fire Lord Zuko navigates his role to lead his Nation into peace while stamping down on treason. He may be succeeding as the leader of his country, but strains to find common ground with Mai.
Katara embraces the new world, supporting Aang as the Southern Water Tribe’s Ambassador traveling together like old times… or are things just too different now?
It will be years before the Fire Lord and the Waterbender find their tides of destiny crashing once more into each other.
For their lives are inevitably woven in fire, waves and ice. -

Summary
“I’m not the same person I was at the end of the war,” her voice was soft but resolute.
He was captivated by the intensity of her blue eyes, piercing the darkness with fierce passion. She paused, as if weighing the changes time wrought upon him.
“I suppose you aren’t either.”
With their faces bathed in the soft radiance of red lanterns and the glow of moonlight, their words lost to the cacophony of fireworks in the starlit sky, it felt as though they were suspended in time. The world around them dissolved into insignificance. There was no Fire Nation, no Water Tribes, no Hundred-Year War that left their shoulders so burdened with grief. They were just two souls, destinies intertwined like the Sun and Moon crossing paths in the boundless expanse of the night sky. After constantly traveling across the four nations, Katara finds herself adrift, unsure of her place in the world. Meanwhile, Zuko is unbalanced, grappling with the weight of the Fire Nation placed upon his shoulders and haunted by the mystery of his mother’s disappearance.
Three years after the war, the tangled strings of fate pull them back together and they must embark on a journey to transform the future of their nations.

Summary
After the war, Katara loses herself in the rhythms of tribal life. In the South Pole the moon is sovereign. Deep in the ice and snow, in the heart of her element, it is easy to forget that there is a land of fire and smoke and ash. The kingdom of the sun. Of dragons. Her journey with the Avatar slips into memory. A strange past life, shadowy and ephemeral.
But some things do not stay consigned to twilight, to history.
She is 20 years old when she sees him again.

Summary
There was a time when Zuko truly believed that he would never be happy. When capturing the Avatar and returning home seemed like an impossible feat. When he was adrift on the ocean or starving in the desert or sweeping the floors of a dank tea shop in the slums of Ba Sing Se. When his face was burned by the same hand that used to gently stroke his head and he was banished from his homeland at thirteen. But, after many agonizing years, he learned how to be happy. He let his friends show him the way. At first, the emotion felt almost foreign, and it startled him. He had been living in fear and anger for so long that he knew no other way to be. But slowly, gently, it filled him up, seeping into his bones and allowing him to become the ruler his uncle always knew he could be, one who ruled with both decisive strength and steadfast compassion.
