“What a pretty little thing!” a voice cried, catching Harry's attention.
Harry looked up, assuming it was a merchant talking to Gemma or some other “citizen” of Bethlehem, but when he did, he found a woman with bright eyes and long dark hair walking over to him.
“Me?” He wasn’t sure what to expect from any of this since she wasn’t a merchant he had met before.
“Yes, you! I think you’d make a very good husband for my son. Are these your parents?”
“Uh, yes?” Harry said, almost like a question. Robin and his mom just watched on with amusement, much to his chagrin.
Turning to Anne and Robin, the merchant woman said, “I’ll give you six goats for the marriage of your son to mine.”
Or every year, Harry and his family attend a church festival called Bethlehem. Harry's freshman year of high school Bethlehem expands, bringing in new vendors, including one that just might change everything for Harry. But first, he has to see if Anne and Robin are willing to part with him for the price of a few goats.

With pride he informs Dean that the saying is actually, “Walking on air.”A strange noise comes through the speakers then. A noise that he’d only heard a few times before: a morbid cross between a sob and a scream.
“Why didn’t you call me?” the questions slips out. Sam had gotten a goodbye at least and Dean had planned to spend a few days with Mary. Did he have any time set aside for Castiel at all? “When you and your stupid plan were heading to the bottom of the ocean… you never called me.”
“I was going to.” He hears how much the admission drains Dean. “I knew– I knew, only two people would be able to stop me: Sam- and you.”
“I would have called you… I planned to in fact, the moment that Billie locked me in and I knew that there was no way to turn back. Then I’d call you.”
“Sometimes I’d dream –” Castiel hears him struggling for breath. He imagines his friend. Alone. Drowning. Dean had told him that Michael kept him underwater while he possessed him. Now it would be the same. Dean would be drowning with Michael. Forever. “I dreamt that I’d be in the box… then my phone would die and I wouldn’t get to call you.”

Tumblr Prompt: Humans were placed onto Earth due to it's natural ability to nullify magic. Immediately after leaving the gravity field, abilities start resurfacing. Upon learning that humanity is going to send people to Mars, galactic society becomes worried; humans were the most powerful sorcerers in the galaxy.
Of course, humans had forgotten this a long, long time ago. So long ago, in fact, that both the native and the humans had forgotten that they were actually two separate races, one from the Earth and one from the stars. They'd forgotten about the worshiping their ancestors had done when the humans arrived, about the portraits in their art and the stories about strange and wonderful things these people could do. Eventually, magic became a dream, only found in works of fiction, and widely believed to be unreal.
But I'm getting off track; this isn't a story about the past. It's a story about the future....
