    Summary

Is this what he wants? He wants Crowley cave in his own chest and hand over his shipwrecked heart? Torn apart and riddled with shrapnel, stinging at the salt from the sea? He’s going to drown here, and his face won’t show a second of it. This isn’t a pond anymore, and he’s not going to take Aziraphale with him. The frothing waters and salted spray are hidden firmly behind his icy set jaw and steely pupils.

Crowley told Aziraphale a lie, so he comes clean. But telling the truth is a bit like pulling loose threads— sometimes the whole thing unravels.

    Summary

In 1967, Crowley doesn't know it but the holy water gifted to him by Aziraphale was made with the best of intentions and the purest of love. For him and him alone. Over the years, the angel's prayer to the Almighty proves vital for the continued survival of the demon: "If nothing else God, I ask that if he makes to use this on himself, to destroy his own existence, please... please stay his hand." But first, Crowley will have to calm down about what 'going too fast' might mean...

    Summary

Just over a week after Armageddon, the bookshop gets an unexpected visitor.

And tea gets a little heated.

    ____________________________________

“Biscuits?” The plate of sweets Aziraphale shoved between their faces made both of them recoil, which was humorous, but he did not laugh. He stood perfectly calm and still while the other two snapped out of it. “If you don’t mind,” he said, sternly and evenly, “We just did an awful lot to avoid a war, and I would quite prefer if you two didn’t start a new one right in my bookshop.”

Crowley instantly forgot his temper and went straight to gazing at Aziraphale with pride and admiration. His way of (not) apologizing was to obediently take a biscuit, but a mischievous little grin twitched over the utterly adoring look on his face. “Shall we take it outside, then?” he said mildly.

Aziraphale rolled his eyes. “Do kindly shut up, dear.”

    Summary

In trauma work, there's a saying: What is now maladaptive was once adaptive. The mindset that allowed Crowley to survive his captivity in Heaven now makes life with Aziraphale difficult, and his anxiety comes to a head after a morning full of flashbacks. Aziraphale, as always, does his best.

This story takes place after the events of Intention of Consoling, but can be read independently.

    Summary

He’s halfway to the door, heart beating in his ears, chest aching with shallow breaths, when something in the tangled pile of blankets on the floor catches his eye. He turns on a heel and snatches the tartan pajama shirt from the pile, glaring at it for any signs of damage: singed edges or torn buttons or ichor stains. The only thing out of place is the fraying seam of a sleeve.

    Summary

After the Fall, Crowley is left disoriented, lost, and terribly, terribly alone in a brave new world. Although Aziraphale is still here, it seems God has taken his memories of Crowley. Can Aziraphale even be trusted again, after what he did in the War? Try as he might, Crowley can't keep away, and slowly, they rebuild what was lost; trust, love, and Crowley's mental stability, and make this world their own. To the world!
(Trigger warning for heavy religious themes and discussion, including some direct biblical quotes and quite a bit of blasphemy.)

    Summary

In the aftermath of the world not ending, Aziraphale and Crowley adjust to life on their own side in their own ways: with spider plant tending, reluctant shop opening, and a job lot of Thomas Hardy novels which refuse to be sold.

That part is easy. It's the fallout from centuries of rejection which is hard.

“Crowley.” Aziraphale’s tone is broken and determined at the same time. It’s been six thousand years and Crowley has never heard Aziraphale’s voice sound quite like that, not even when he was pleading for Crowley to do something on the airfield. “Kiss me.”

    It’s not a question.

It becomes one, maybe, when Crowley doesn’t reply with action or words of his own, when he leaves it hanging in the echoing cavern of a kitchen, the only thing that exists even though it doesn’t exist at all.

    Summary

Crowley is terrified of losing Aziraphale again, but unable to confess his feelings. He follows Aziraphale on an errand to America, where they end up invited to a seder and spend the next year being invited to other holidays and gatherings on both sides of the Atlantic. Is Crowley's pining painfully obvious to everyone but Aziraphale? (Yes.) Are the rabbi and her wife going to try and get them together? (Yes.) How many Jewish holidays will these two ineffable idiots be invited to before they finally admit their feelings to each other? (Read it and see!)

(And because someone requested it, there is now a link to brief explanatory notes about the various Jewish terms at the beginning of each chapter.)

Crowley reread the text one last time. Was it too direct, or too vague? Did that comma need to be there? And when in the Nine Circles of Hell did Crowley decide to add a winking emoticon?

He quickly deleted the entire message and started over again. He had to get this right...

(Or: After being pressured by Anathema, Crowley decides to tell Aziraphale how he feels through text as the angel never really bothered with newer technology. Until he did.)

    Summary

Crowley's PTSD following the events of Repossession makes it difficult for him to leave the bookshop. Aziraphale worries that all the time spent associating "bookshop" with "safety" is making Crowley's recovery harder, and decides to push Crowley into running a solo errand. Crowley does his best, but triggers abound.

Be warned, this is a brutal one. There is a graphic flashback to a scene of sexual and psychological torture that does not appear in Repossession (but is pretty canon compliant with the events of that fic imo), so please be mindful.

    Summary

There exists a moment between the calling of his brother's name and his mind comprehending it. He feels, more than sees, Warlock numbly step forward, the gears turning in his brain, a young mind attempting to understand his fate.

There exists a moment between Warlock's step forward and his reaction. Aziraphale raises one arm high and uses the other to hold Warlock back.

"I volunteer as a tribute!" He shouts, before he can even think the words, before he can even think it over at all.

And that does it. Aziraphale Zachary Fell is one of 24 tributes for the 50th annual Hunger Games.
