Best friends Lance and Hunk are holding each other to their plans for self-improvement, Keith has major abandonment issues stemming from his mother's lack of involvement in his life, and Pidge is dealing with the aftermath of years of bullying for her differences. They meet at another group dealing with self-esteem issues.

The idea for this came to me while half asleep. It's a work in progress so will definitely be evolving as I go, but the idea of the connection between Lotor and the Black Lion resonated really strongly with me - after all, he was able to use the Black Bayard as though it was his in Season 5. That always struck me, since when Allura was joking with Lance and took the Red Bayard from his hands it immediately changed form and powered down. I wanted to explore a possible reason why and this is what makes the most sense to me.
