Summary
Lance’s life is always one he’s been used to. Wake up, make breakfast, leave, walk to school, get bullied, go to work, come home, get yelled at and/or ignored, sleep. Rinse, wash, repeat.
His life wasn’t always this way.
He actually had friends, people would leave him alone. His parents tolerated him and actually gave a shit, even if it was only a little. In fact, life was pretty good for sophomore Lance.
But it changed during the summer.

Summary
Keith has been coming back to Altea Tattoos for months now, and it has little to do with the fact that his best friend is the piercer and more to do with the beautiful tattoo artist with talented hands and a smile that makes him weak at the knees.
Lance has had a lot of customers in his days, left his mark on plenty of people, but none so memorable as Keith. He finds himself turning to the door with every chime of the bell, hoping to see eyes like the night sky and a shy smile that could rival the moon.

At this Lance snapped his head down so hard and fast he could practically feel the soreness that was to come later.
"N-no I'm sure he doesn't sweetheart." Lance spluttered, he had never seen this a guy in his whole life.
Lance was an aspiring photographer, it was practically his job to notice things, especially when said pretty thing was a deliciously grizzled, piece of man that he'd held eye contact with just seconds ago.
There was no way he'd never noticed this guy before.
"He does! He's even looking right now."
Lance swears he was going to have to ice his neck as soon as he got home because this was ridiculous, and the fact that his body currently didn't know the meaning of discreet was absolutely the worst.
or - Lance is certain things happen for a reason, he's a firm believer in that, but why is a 6 year old taking it upon themselves to set him up with the very attractive firefighter that seems to love coming to the bakery. He swears this kid gets more involved in other people's love lives than she does her homework.

Most of Shiro’s attention is still on his friend, who hasn’t turned toward Shiro at all. His hands are a flurry of movement. Signing, his lagging brain helpfully supplies, he’s signing. From the sharpness of the movements he’s making with long, slim fingers, Shiro guesses he’s in mid-rant about something. The Hispanic boy just looks patiently amused, but makes a quick movement when he can get a word in edgewise to draw the other’s attention to Shiro’s presence.
When the other finally turns toward him, Shiro loses his tongue all over again. He knows he’s a disaster (Matt reminds him almost daily), but the universe doesn’t have to remind him like this.

There are a million ways to find your soulmate. For Lance, that means that whenever his soulmate marked on themself, it appeared on Lance's skin. For Keith, who was born deaf, it means that everytime his soulmate hears music, he hears it too.
When Keith ages out of the foster system and goes to live with Shiro, an old foster brother, and finish high school with his best friend who he met online, Pidge, he meets Lance, one of said friend's best friends. Who immediately pegs Keith as his rival. He can't stand the guy, but maybe they have more in common than they think.
