In one universe, Bruce Wayne crumples besides his lifeless parents and vows Never again, and it becomes the mantra of his entire soul.
In this universe, the little boy vows much the same, and chases down the criminal right then and there.
There’s a gunshot, and you can guess who’s still left standing.

Bruce’s children want to meet the man that their father deemed worthy of a smile. So they do, in the only way they know how. By breaking into people's houses and lurking in dark places.
Bruce just wants his children to stop stalking Earth’s Green Lantern, if only because they're ruining his plans.

After a moment, he cracks one eye. Then both go wide as saucers as he takes in the—the thing in front of him, shimmery red energy in a perfect circle hovering in the air. The center of it shows a dimly lit road, surrounded on both sides by endless trees and foliage.
Sci-fi’s never been his bag, especially when he had Jane Austen on hand, but he still knows it when he sees it.
“Are you—what the—is that a portal?”
