Summary
After the season 2 finale Malcolm's in a bad place, he stabbed his father and now all he can see is his father in front of him, taunting him with the knowledge that they're the same.
Malcolm just wants to rest...even if it means leaving the people he loves behind.
----------
Dani just wanted to check in on her friend and make sure he's ok, instead she's faced with her worst nightmare."A single tear escaped from the corner of his eye and Malcolm felt her hand against his cheek as she brushed it away. He felt her other hand grab his own, squeezing it comfortingly. “It’s ok if you want to let go, it’s ok if it’s your time to go.” Malcolm nodded, he wanted to go, he needed to go so that he could just rest."
(This story deals with sensitive topics such as suicidal thoughts, depression, overdosing, suicide etc. read at your own risk)

Summary
Once again, halfway through describing how the killer likely subdued the victim, Malcolm stops again. This time, his entire body turns when he looks behind him, and he almost looks irritated as his gaze rakes over the instruments, briefly snapping toward the door before he shakes his head, takes a deep breath and turns back around. This time, Gil speaks up. "You good, Bright?"
"Fine. I just thought I…" Malcolm trails off, doesn't pick back up. Just continues with the profile.

cat_77’s original summary: There’s a saying about doing things with one hand tied behind your back. An arm in a sling is a close enough comparison in her mind.

cat_77’s original summary: Set in early season 1. Muggings suck, support of others is something he might someday get used to, and ice is most definitely a good thing.

Summary
A new killer makes himself known; taunting and teasing the major crimes department, as well as dropping bodies left and right. Multiple nights without sleep, trying to get the threat of their newest killer off the streets in a timely manner, leaves Dani, Gil and JT a bit more irritated than usual.
Malcolm seems to be the one taking the brunt of said irritation-- and if his childhood being a serial killer's son had taught him anything, it's how to second guess his relationships when people start getting annoyed with him.
It never really did take a lot to send Malcolm into a downward spiral. It's hard to miss though, as his father's voice fills his head with snide remarks, and a sinking feeling of anxiety settles in his chest. It's too bad someone else gets to Malcolm before Malcolm can get to someone for help.

Summary
Malcolm's life had never been sunshine and rainbows. That's literally just how it is after your father is arrested for murdering twenty-three (at least) people. It's the territory that comes with being the son of a notorious serial killer. All that said, Malcolm can easily say he'd never been shafted so hard on an investigation in his life; both metaphorically, and, well, physcially because he'd quite literally been shoved down an elevator shaft while persuing a shady figure.
In the end, Malcolm knows whats real, and what was a dream, but he still can't help getting lost in the parallels between them. Who would've thought falling three-stores would be one of the most traumatic, and eye-opening things in his life? Also, is there any chance he can have a lift to the hospital, because ouch?
or,
The hospital visit after Prodigal Son S2E6 we all knew Malcolm needed, but the PS writers failed to give us; featuring our broken Bright boy, snippets if JT and Dani being concerned™
