Summary
In biochemistry: a phenomenon in which a molecule is blocked from binding to an enzyme by another molecule with a similar structure—like a demon preventing an angel from binding completely to Heaven or, more to the point, doubt and fear keeping an angel from wholly welcoming a bond with a demon.
Or: The ups and downs of sharing 6000 years of life on Earth with an angel who wants desperately to be doing Good. Written for the first Good Omens Song and Poetry Exchange and inspired by The Libertines' "Can't Stand Me Now" and Fisherman's Friends' "Union of Different Kinds."

Summary
Peace is destined to be broken, is it not?
The door to Aziraphale’s bookshop is flung open, and just as he’s turning to announce that they are, in fact, quite closed, he comes face-to-face with the drawing of the meteors that he did for last month’s periodical. It’s a miracle that he can even recognize them, Aziraphale thinks to himself, considering how close the page is being shoved to his nose.
“Get out of my periodical, angel,” seethes Crowley.
***
After their argument at St. James’ Park leaves Aziraphale feeling the need for something new in his life, he decides to take some art classes. They lead to a job with some rather unexpected consequences.

Summary
“There could be an accident! Or they could use the holy water against you! I can’t - I can’t take that risk,” says Aziraphale.
Crowley lets out a growl of frustration, and suddenly he’s on his feet again, vibrating with an energy that Aziraphale has long since learned means that he’s doing his very best not to start pacing. “Why? Why is this so important to you?”
“Because I love you!”
***
Following the argument in 1862, Aziraphale goes back to his bookshop, and resolves to forget it. He’s less than successful.

Summary
Fraternize: (verb) to associate on close terms with members of a hostile group especially when contrary to military orders. Crowley would risk destruction to love Aziraphale, and Aziraphale loves Crowley too much to risk his destruction. (Neither of them seem to understand this, however.)
In the wake of their argument in St. James Park, Crowley is left to grapple with a devastating revelation: after nearly six millennia, his only friend doesn't trust him. After growing tired of wallowing in his own self-pity, he decides to get on with it.

Summary
The details of the letter were the real important bit. With just a few hellish misspellings, the right amount of gore, and a couple strategic miracles to ensure it would land in the right hands, soon enough Heaven would be in just as much of a panic about Jack as London was. If there was one thing Crowley knew how to do, it was pull off a good hoax.
She looked it over.
It was just about perfect, but angels could be rather dense—save one, but even then, it depended on the day. She contemplated a moment, then scribbled in dramatic messy letters across the top: FROM HELL.
Aziraphale had been right. She only needed permission.

Summary

Summary
They have been trying to make up for the time they spent apart. They drink and they talk, though they seem to circle back to subjects that Crowley really doesn't want to talk about, he’d rather put it all behind him, so when they run out of words they keep going with touch. The problem is they try to act the same they had at the turn of the century even though decades have passed and Aziraphale now treats Crowley as if he was different. The world around them is different, too. Yet Crowley hadn’t realized that asking for the same was asking for something impossible…
----
After they had their fight in St James's Park, Crowley thinks back to what led to it. He remembers the good stuff (sex!) as well as the more unfortunate things.

Summary
He’d seen Sitis comfort Job in such a way: a gentle brush for reassurance, simple pressure enough to say ‘you’re not alone’. He remembered how it felt to be calmed by Aziraphale’s touch on the arc. The heat of his hand warding away the icy sting of remorse. Crawley reaches out carefully, places one hand on the doleful hunch of Aziraphale’s shoulders.
---------------------------
On comfort, on anxiety, on two beings reaching out and pulling away and everyone just trying their hardest to make things feel okay.
I think at the end of the day they just want to make each other feel okay.

“That’s the tether.” Aziraphale pointed to one circle, then back at the other. “That’s the anchor. If I’m bound to Earth, and you’re bound to me…
Then Hell can’t take you back."

Summary
Aziraphale moves closer still, and then Crowley ends up with a lap full of angel and two handfuls of waistcoat. "My favorite shade of grey," he murmurs, and Crowley casts his mind back to when they'd just sat down to drinks. They'd talked about that, sure, but he was entirely certain they hadn't talked about this, about an angel straddling a demon's lap in a chair not even really designed to fit one of them comfortably, "always was the one we make together. May I?" he asks, as if there's some possibility that Crowley might remember some words other than his name.

Summary
Aziraphale visits one of Crowley’s many gravestones throughout history, expecting nothing more than the last five times or so he’s come to pay respects and lament on things. It’s not until the hand quite literally latches on his ankle that he realizes something is very wrong with the supposed empty corporation—and this is going to require a lot of explanations.
