Moira glanced towards where the voice had come from and waved, a big grin on her face. “Thanks, honey! Nice clown outfit you are wearing there!”
Charles cracked up laughing next to her, pushing himself off the counter and glancing at his watch. “Peter should be back by now.”
“I know that you've assumed this pseudo father role with him since Erik is gone, but relax, Charles. Peter is probably talking to his friends after school.”
Charles forced himself to take a deep breath. “I am acting this way because Erik would want someone to, and no one else seems to understand how dangerous it is for him out there.”
or: It's been nine months since Erik disappeared. While everyone is trying to move on with their lives, Charles is finding that particularly difficult. Thank goodness Sebastian is there to understand when no one else does. Meanwhile, Erik's journey takes a much different path than he'd been expecting when he makes one simple mistake. But really, that mistake's the best thing that could have happened to him.

But John's never had sex with any of them because he's actually in a secret relationship with Bobby that had started in college and lasted through the band becoming famous. Bobby can't handle the rumors though, and he decides that John needs to be as hurt as he is.

Bobby's father is chief among them. Yet the biggest problem of them all is that whenever Bobby tells John he loves him, John just can't believe it. He wants to, he really does, but he just can't. That has to get better someday, right?

Summary
It was raining, and somehow, in the midst of the worst night of his life, Charles couldn't help but think that it was poetic justice. He'd given up trying to find a place to duck under until the rain stopped, and instead was leaning up against a lamppost, shifting his weight when a sudden, sharp jolt of pain radiated through his side.
“Great,” he muttered to himself, pulling up the thin sheer of his shirt to get a better look at the deep purple bruise that was forming across his ribs. The trick had hit him hard enough that a couple of those ribs were probably broken, and that was really the last thing he needed because he didn't have enough money for the rent, let alone a trip to the clinic for some x-rays.
or: Charles is a prostitute. Erik tries to help him out. Eventually, Charles accepts the help and then everything is different.

Bobby finally worked his way out of the crowd and into an area where he felt like he could breathe, only to find himself standing at the edge of the bar. Groaning, he leaned back against the wall and forced himself to take another deep breath, his eyes slipping closed. He couldn't believe he was actually in a gay club, that he'd actually just been dancing with another man, hands trailing over each other's bodies so shamelessly that he was surprised he hadn't blushed. It was barely past midnight and already this was the greatest night of his life.

Bobby had just finished putting his last pair of socks into the dresser drawer when the dorm room's door burst open and in walked the best looking man he'd ever seen. Tall, dark, and handsome in the best of ways, he was bobbing his head along to music blaring through his headphones, staring at the video game in his hands. The man threw his bag onto the bed that hadn't already been made and Bobby blinked rapidly as he walked back out of the room without even acknowledging him. Sucking in a deep breath, he shook his head and turned back towards the dresser, gripping onto the edge of it as he recited the mantra he had come to live by in his head.
I am a man. Men are attracted to women. Men cannot be attracted to other men. I am not attracted to other men.
or: John's comfortable with who he is; Bobby very much is not. But they're drawn to each other in a way that they can't ignore. Piotr is really trying to ignore John's repeated attempts to set him up, but when pretty freshman Kitty is his latest attempted set up, Piotr starts to realize that there might be something to this whole 'love at first sight' thing. Yet there's a reason why this story has the word tragic attached to it.

As pieces begin coming back to him, things get even more complicated than they were before.

Everyone knows high school is terrible and confusing and generally the worst time of your life, that’s just a fact. Being a mutant happens to make it a lot worse.
