Stede gives him a tour of his ship, The Revenge, and Roach prepares a meal. The two gentlemen enjoy conversation and each other’s company for a time, but ultimately George must return to his own century.

He places a hand on Edward’s throat. He doesn’t squeeze, just lets it rest there, so that Edward can feel the weight of it. So that he realises that Thomas has the power to choke him, even though he won't. Just like Edward holds his hand above Thomas everyday of their lives, but seems unable to come to a conclusion what to do with it.
