Summary
Post-Episode 5x10. Summary: After a bitter breakup with Taylor and Eddie’s announcement that he’s leaving the 118, Buck spirals into a self-hating, self-sacrificing breakdown. During a harrowing call, he severely burns his hands trying to save someone.
Deeply concerned, Eddie insists on taking care of Buck throughout his recovery. Buck realizes his feelings for Eddie are stronger than he thought…and that terrifies him. He already lost him as a partner. He didn’t want to lose him a friend, too.
A/N: Get ready for some whump and angst, people. What I think is going to happen after the events of 5x10. I’m gonna warn you, this is really emotionally heavy and pretty much like a therapy exercise for me right now. I’m literally crying while writing. I’m okay though. This is cathartic.
Title and chapter titles based on the song "when the party's over" by Billie Eillish.

“You can’t.”
“What?” Buck must have misheard Chris. Had to have. There’s no way that Christopher just told him not to be in love with Eddie. That he’s not allowed to be in love with him. “Chris, buddy, what do you mean?”
“I mean, you can’t love my dad. You can’t be in love with him. And you definitely can’t tell him you love him.”
Or: Chris tells Buck he doesn’t want him and Eddie to date each other. Feelings are hurt, miscommunications happen, and there’s lots of sad Buck.

Summary
“Evan,” Maddie breathed. “I know. I know.” She pulled him into a hug and the caring touch made a few of Buck’s tears spill over. He hadn’t realized how long it had been since he had just talked to Maddie like this, didn’t expect how much lighter he would feel having her immediate acceptance. He relaxed into the embrace before he finally registered what she had said.
“Wait, what do you mean you know? How?” he asked incredulously, pulling away to look Maddie in the eyes and wipe his own.
OR
Buck tells Maddie he age regresses. It doesn’t go quite how he’s expecting, but it couldn’t go any better.

Buck loves music. After the lawsuit, he finds the time to express everything that’s happened into song form, building a safety net of lyrical prose. What he doesn’t expect is that his music takes off, skyrocketing him to fame under the alias “Evan Buchanan”. When Bobby forces him to use all of his vacation time, he decides to embark on his North American tour. As his absence in the station grows, the 118 realize how much they ruined Buck. As Buck’s last performance at Dodger Stadium approaches, can the team rectify their mistakes? Summary
"Who wouldn’t want to go on a date with this pretty face?” Buck says, tapping a hand on Eddie’s cheek.
It should be comical—satirical, maybe—two single best friends playing up the romance so they wouldn’t be the odd ones out in a romantic setting. But Buck’s voice is a shade too sincere, the hand on Eddie’s face too gentle, the look in their eyes too soft. And, okay, Chimney would like the spit bucket now, please. He could gag at the sweetness.
“What, you’re only on a date with me for my pretty face?” Eddie asks, and Jesus, they’re still staring into each other’s eyes.
Or: The group goes to a Wine & Cheese Night and tries to figure out if Buck and Eddie know they're dating.

Summary
Eddie is out with his army buddies when he sees a beautiful woman in a blue dress.
OR
The genderfluid Buck fic no one asked for
----“Hey, guys, look over there!” He exclaimed in a stage whisper. “Isn’t that the tallest woman you’ve ever seen?” Following his gaze, Eddie’s eyes fell upon a figure in a long baby blue dress, with heels to match. She was tall, right enough, very tall. Eddie was 6 foot, but this woman, in heels, had to be at least 6’6”. The wide straps on her dress were obviously chosen to minimise her broad shoulders, and it had obviously been custom made, because it fitted perfectly. Not too short, clinging to the curve of her butt and her hips. Perfectly curled blonde hair hit her shoulders, and she moved her head slightly, making it move from side to side.
There was sometime familiar about her. About those strong legs, the curves of her ass, the muscular arms...gazing down those arms, he gave a slight gasp as he saw the two black bands around her right arm, the skull above it at the back. He would bet all the cash he had in his pocket that, if she turned around, there would be others visible.
