A spin-off from Daredevil S2E11. A horrified daredevil rescues the kids from the Hand. But when the ninjas come to Metro-General to steal them back, one of the girls hides away. Matt takes her under her wing, hoping to gain information following her recovery. But he doesn't realize that the exposure to chemicals has given her powers of her own.
Narrated from the perspective of each of our favorite characters.

“No, wait,” Matt says, after a second, stepping in to catch Foggy’s arm gently. “You know I’m cool with it, right?”
“With me objectifying you?” Foggy asks, a little strangled.
Matt’s mouth falls open for a moment before it turns into a grin instead, cheeks flushing a little. He’s still holding Foggy’s arm and is aggressively shirtless. It feels significant.
“I don’t hate it,” Matt admits, shrugging. His fingers squeeze a little before he drops his hand and turns back around. “I mean, I’m straight but it’s fine if you wanna, like—look at me.”
Foggy leans against the doorframe and watches Matt towel himself off, feeling like his soul might actually leave his body.

Matt knows there's an end. Believes it. He just has to make it there, that's all. The only question is how long he's going to have to last. And if he can.

He didn't mean to do these things. He's lied to people all his life, he can't just suddenly stop. He's manipulated people to see him the way he wanted them to see him, he can't just be normal.
There was always the choice, 'be himself' or 'be a mutant'. In high school and with his friends he chose to be himself, to wear what he wanted to wear, to look and speak and act the way he wanted to. With the X-Men, he chose to be a mutant, a loud speedster who helped whoever he could, the comic relief that broke the tension and got rid of fear with jokes because that's what people needed from him.
He couldn't be both, he was taught that mutants could never be themselves. Being both just wasn't an option...

Foggy is locking up the office, it’s nine o’clock on a Saturday night, and he’s debating with Karen on whether they should head to the bar first or pick up a pizza beforehand. His phone rings, he sees that it’s Claire, and the bottom of his stomach drops like he just hit the brakes on a fast-moving car.
“Hello?” He answers, “Is he okay?” He doesn’t think he’s ever had a conversation with Claire that didn’t have to do with Matt’s… hobby.
“He…” Claire pauses, and Foggy hears a thumping, then a crash. She inhales, sharply, and Foggy’s already out the door of the building, booking it down the street. “He’s in rut.”

“Alright, I’m tired of watching you make lovestruck faces,” Gina says, bumping Matt with her hip while they’re standing at the counter together. “I’m going to have you in that guy’s bed by Tuesday.”
“Okay, first of all, it’s already Monday,” Matt says, slowly, “and what guy?”
Gina scoffs.
“I’m giving you a very dry look right now, Matthew,” she says. She only calls him Matthew like that when she’s about to try to fix whatever she thinks is wrong with his life. She’s usually surprisingly well-intentioned but the kinds of things that Gina manages to get away with rarely work for mere mortals.
“Okay, I know what guy,” he says, softly, trying not to turn his head in Foggy’s direction.
