Midoriya Hisashi's death left his family in major debt. Inko and Izuku are forced to move before Izuku entered junior high, leaving behind the future he should have had. Izuku smiled softly to his mother after setting the boxes he was carrying onto the table. "And they caught the woman that did it, mom. The security is better now, too," he said gently to his mother as he took the box out of her arms. "I'll be perfectly fine here."
"Okay, but what about that couple that died a few months ago?" Inko inquired.
"They were old, mom. They passed away in their sleep."
"And what about that murder in-"
"Mom," Izuku said firmly as he held his mother's shoulders gently. "Everything is going to be fine. I'm not that far away from you. I'll message you or call you every day. And I'll visit you as much as I can," he promised. "If anything else happens here, I'll move out, okay? I'll keep my guard up."
Inko let out a little sigh. "Okay," she said quietly. "Sorry. I'm just worried about you."
"I know," Izuku said softly. "But everything is going to be alright."
Or, in other words, the time Izuku moves into a haunted apartment building and stumbles into a mystery bigger than anything he's ever faced.
