"Have you ever thought of... escaping from here?"
Moira's existence in Blackwatch was an extremely scrutinized one, with almost no freedom and many strict restrictions placed on her that would drive a normal person mad. To her, however, it was a small price to pay for the freedom to research.
Besides, she had a secret of her own. One she shared with a certain blonde medical prodigy.

Summary
Moira O’Deorain has won. Her rivals within Talon destroyed, her trio of loyal Weapons - the Changed and copper-eyed Tracer, the silver-eyed Oilliphéist, and golden-eyed Widowmaker - at her command.
And now, Overwatch - and Fareeha Amari - have discovered that the missing Angela Ziegler is alive, but not necessarily well, not necessarily herself, at least, not the herself they knew, and Fareeha Amari will take whatever steps are necessary to get her back. But what she and Overwatch both do not know is...
...Angela feels exactly the same way.
This story - a side-step/alternate-ending sequel to The Armourer and the Living Weapon - will be told in a series of eddas, sagas, fragments, texts, and cantos, all of which serve their individual purposes. To follow it as it appears, please subscribe to the series.

Summary
She hates distractions from her work. This meant anyone bothering her, asking for herbs, potions or magical aid. Just because she was the mage that lived outside the village alone, didn't mean she was the go-to fixer of all of the village's health problems.
Then finally sweet peace is reached when a healer moves into the village, and all the simpletons go to her instead.
Moira already likes (loves) this Angela Ziegler.

Summary
Moira O’Deorain has won. Her rivals within Talon destroyed, her trio of loyal Weapons - the Changed and copper-eyed Tracer, the silver-eyed Oilliphéist, and golden-eyed Widowmaker - at her command, to remake the world.
A new and better world needs a new and better architect to help design it, and Moira and Angela - and Tracer - know precisely who that should be. To Oilliphéist's disappointment, this acquisition doesn't involve violence - because at least this once, Talon has a much more enticing alternative to offer.
This story - a side-step/alternate-ending sequel to The Armourer and the Living Weapon - will be told in a series of eddas, sagas, fragments, texts, and cantos, all of which serve their individual purposes. To follow it as it appears, please subscribe to the series.

Summary
Jesse McCree is reminded of a phantom of his past that was never supposed to find her way into Talon. Moira O'Deorain and him had never gotten along all that well, but when the team was dissolved McCree was left with plenty of guilt at what happened to his teammates. When Moira slips from his grasp because McCree hesitates, he later reflects on an instance or two where Moira wasn't just a snooty scientist, but a valued member of his team.
They were never friends, but they could have been.

Summary
Angela and Moira are very different parents in a number of ways. For example, Angela takes such gentle care when doing their daughter's hair. She does it with ease, putting in braids and twists and clips without batting an eyelid.
Moira, on the other hand, cannot put their daughter's hair up to save her life. And it turns out that all it takes is a little suggestion from their precocious five-year-old for Moira to utilise any unorthodox technique it might take to get the little girl ready for school.

Summary
Angela Ziegler had been familiar with Moira O'Deorain from a professional distance, and she would have been quite content to keep it that way. Enter some typical clandestine contract work on Overwatch's part, and Angela is suddenly forced to become entirely more familiar with the redheaded geneticist - and unfortunately, she is very, very hot.

Summary
"You... wanted that to happen, didn't you?"
Moira doesn't answer her. Not to confirm, and not to deny.
A few things come floating back to her, more of Moira's weird reactions in the recent past - things that Angela had noticed, but not really managed to pin down. Not until now, that Moira is obviously waiting for something.
Something from Angela.
Angela grabs Moira for a second time that day - hands wrapped in her labcoat lapels to pull her down, bringing them together in a harsh kiss that neither of them was expecting.
They know better than this.
Both of them.

Summary
She had her schedule. She had her hours and her facial expression was enough to deter the most from even thinking of approaching her so people usually gave her enough room to feel as if she’s remotely alone. She did her workouts. She left the gym, avoiding eye contact. Everything was well until it had to come crashing down on her.
Because that’s what Ziegler did. She came into her life and ruined it.
Or why Moira and gym never mix unless there's a very convincing reason.

Humanity as a concept has had a variety of cultural variations on what it means to truly be human, usually codifying in something we call "The Human Spirit." But, when does the line draw between human and monster?
Angela Ziegler finds herself taking shelter in the castle of the mysterious and eccentric Moira O'Deorain. As secrets come out and boundaries are tested, Angela is faced with the same question. What does it mean to be human?

Summary
“O’Deorain?”
She blinked, taking her head out of her hands to fix blurry eyes on her co-worker, Dr. Ziegler. She hadn’t seen her sit down, but there she was, finger steepled and full cup of coffee in front of her. “Ziegler?”
“I’ve been calling your name for a while. Are you doing okay?”
There was a clear correlation between Angela's voice and the soft throbbing of Moira's heart.

Summary
Moira held the beaker into the air, swirling it. “The Youth are terrifying. Glad I never was one.”
That made Angela pause and half turn to watch the geneticist’s back with a narrow-eyed, amused half-grin. “Pardon me, Dr. O’Deorain, but did you just make a joke?”
This time she angled her head so Angela could see her profile, and the smallest smile that rested at the corner of her mouth. “I am as human as you, Dr. Ziegler.”

Summary
Moira is judgmental, and strangely fascinated with topics that unsettle the others members of Overwatch. She is imposing - perhaps not physically, but with her sheer presence, and the odd glint in her off-colored eyes. She refuses to fall into any category other than cartoon villain half the time, flaunting how she yet remains outside the structure of Overwatch as a whole - both because of her employment within Blackwatch and because she is as much an outsider now, several months later, as she was when she first arrived. Not that it seems to bother her.
It bothers Angela.

“And which one of our services would you like to use tonight?”
This time when Angela asked, she didn’t falter. She wasn’t embarrassed. Maybe it was due to the no-bullshit way the operator regarded her. It was probably just due to the wine.
“I was wondering if the Irish woman in Dominance/submission was free, actually.”

A genetic imperative is, among other definitions, the drive to pass on one's own genetic code-- to have their own biological offspring, so to speak. This behavior is theorized to be exhibited by humans in the exclusivity of many human sexual relationships, also known as monogamy. The urge to spread one's genes is postulated by some to be an involuntary and unconscious biological drive. And so how could one Overwatch doctor expect to be immune, really?

Summary
Angela Ziegler didn't expect a reassignment to Blackwatch. Nor for her role to be debunking the research of the mysterious Moira O'Deorain. She certainly didn't expect becoming embroiled in a conspiracy encompassing Overwatch, Blackwatch, forces beyond the realm of her treasured science, and her own secrets. But as both women will come to understand, the truth is rarely pure and never simple. Trust no one.
