Summary
Theme n°46: Family
Prompto lets out a soft gasp and kisses back, not letting himself time to double guess it. The exchange is very short but intense, and after a second, Noctis falls back into the driver seat, grinning at him again. His eyes are shining with affection and mischief, and Prompto’s heart does this thing where it forgets they ever met before, and it falls for him all over again, swelling up until his chest feels too tight, stealing his breath away.
“Happy birthday,” Noctis tells him, and Prompto blinks again.
“But it’s not my birthday,” he answers, completely lost now.
ORIt's been a year since the Sun has risen and the Long Night has ended.
After Prompto has come around, he and Noctis finally get to taste the happiness that has been eluding them for so long. But it's not all sugar and rainbows and through all the joys and first times, many hardships and trials await. The energy crisis is only getting worse as the Meteor has disappeared with Titan, and without an Oracle, speaking to the Gods is impossible.
Determined to marry Prompto no matter the duties inherent to his title, Noctis rules kindly and learns to put himself first.Series

Summary
Too much magic, they say. The entirety of Winter, solely under Noctis’ tenuous control. It’s difficult, not least of all because it isolates him, makes it impossible for other Gods to be around him, let alone anyone else.
“Didn’t it hurt?” Noctis asks. “When you touched me.”
“No,” Prompto says. “Should it?”
Noctis doesn’t know if it should, just that— “It does everyone else,” Noctis says.
“Everyone?”
Prompto sucks in a deep breath and pushes it out long and slow. He doesn’t seem scared when he reaches for Noctis’ hand, doesn’t even hesitate to interlock their fingers, and press their palms together.
“There we go,” Prompto says softly. “To start making up for it.”Alternatively: The only thing that can threaten the God of Winter is a broken heart—and no one will ever get close enough for that.

Summary
Her hand came to brush his hair from his face, brow creased. The worry looked out of place on her features, but the subtle wrinkles in her forehead and at the sides of her mouth spoke of a lot of it. He couldn’t help just watching her in turn as she felt his forehead, then pressed the back of her hand to his throat.
“You don’t seem to be ill,” She uttered, softly, “Are you able to stand?”
“Given time to get to my feet, yes,” He said, joking by instinct.
The joke seemed to work, because she smiled a bit.
She offered a hand to help him into a sitting position, and despite making light of it for years, ignoring it for years, the pain was still enough to have him wincing through the experience.
The concern had returned to her face by the time he was upright.
“Are you injured?” She asked, resting a hand on his shoulder.
“Not recently,”

Summary
Noctis may have wanted to go on this outing because he was feeling suffocated in all the princely stuff this whole event entails, but for Luna… it’s so much more meaningful than that. He isn’t sure she’s had a day to do whatever she wants to do since the day Tenebrae was annexed by Niflheim a dozen years ago. In fact, knowing how serious she was even when they first met, Noctis four and Luna eight, he has to wonder if she's ever spent a day like this, just hanging out, in her entire life.
He just hopes she’s enjoying herself right now. He can’t give back to her all those years, but he can give her today—and as many days as possible after this.✥━◤
Noctis and Lunafreya spend one of the last days leading up to their wedding exploring Altissia.

Summary
Noctis sat at the barstool on the other side of the counter, watching in companionable silence as Ignis whipped up their meal. Noctis took it all in piece by piece- the flutter of Ignis’ bangs, still down from his swim earlier, and the mesmerizing movement of his hands as they darted from knife to spatula to ingredients. The sight felt familiar in a distant way, like Noctis hadn’t seen Ignis do this in a long time. Noctis had missed his cooking sorely.
Noctis recoiled at that strange thought, blinking rapidly like he’d been struck. Where had that come from? Ignis had cooked for them just yesterday. He always did. This was a mundane sight if anything, something Noctis saw every day.
Yet, the strange sensation of absence wouldn’t leave his chest. He felt, somehow, as if yesterday had really been lifetimes ago.
But what sense did that make?

Summary
It's fine, everything's fine. Nothing is wrong with Prompto, nothing is wrong with their friendship. Prompto's just busy, just has a very different life to him that Noct cannot understand.
Because Prompto won't explain it to him.
“Prompto’s just busy,” Noct makes himself say. Tries to make himself believe.
“He’s seemed tired recently,” Ignis allows.
“He’s been tired for a while,” Noctis snaps — regretting it immediately.
Should apologise, can’t apologise. Just something else he doesn't know how to do.Alternatively: The things Noctis doesn't notice just keep adding up.

“Fight? Why would you wish to fight me?”
“Because you’re the final boss of this place, obviously.”
“The final… Are you under the impression that I am an adversary?”
“Well, duh. Like I said, it’s obvious.”
Sora mistakenly assumes that Bahamut is an enemy, causing the biggest breach of World Order possible and putting a wrench in Noctis's very destiny.

Summary
“Wow!” Prompto exclaimed. The garden was clearly visible to the boy for the first time, and he marvelled at it, tracing his fingers along the petals of a nearby rose with awe. “This is incredible! I wish I had my camera with me.”
Noctis remembered that particular flower from the way it leaned out slightly from the bush. At the time, he’d grabbed it, tried to pluck it off—but it refused to budge. None of the roses here acted like normal.
Then, he had looked down at his left wrist, where his soulmark lay beneath his glove, and thought for the first time that maybe it didn’t point to his soulmate the way it did for everyone else.
Or: Noctis has his first human interaction in centuries.

Summary
Prompto spreads his fingers against the warm sand and Noctis stares at them.
Hands tipped with sharp claws had pushed Noctis from his former home, wrapping his weakest limbs in a wide, webbed grip. His own hands had always been peculiar to him, by comparison; weak and useless.
He places one of his own alongside Prompto’s, stretching each of his fingers out and parting them to show each unconnected digit. No good for swimming, they’d teased him.
“See,” Prompto says, moving his hand closer.
They’re almost the same size even, all but interchangeable for how similar they are lying side by side.
“You’re not so different to us after all.”Alternatively: Noctis has survived on his own for too long to be making a mistake like this - to get caught in a net simply because he got curious.
