Summary
Jim Moriarty- the most dangerous man in Britain, if not the world- planned to fake his death to foil Mycroft Holmes' plans: he did NOT plan for Porlock- Mycroft Holmes fellow Ultra clearance- to betray him. Sebastian Moran- were-tiger, lover, abuse victim, abuser- in grief decided to follow his last plan, as best as he understood it, and infect (at least) the man responsible for his death- Mycroft Holmes.
The problem is that it is difficult to maintain anger when you really never liked hurting people (killing them is easier) and Mycroft Holmes turns out to be very very far from the Iceman you expected.
Mycroft finds out that weres (shapeshifters) are not the mindless violent creatures he thought they were, and realizes from the holes in Sebastian's story what MIGHT have happened.
They join forces to find out if Jim Moriarty is still alive... while dealing with their past traumas and a very strong attraction to each other.

Greg Lestrade joined the police force to placate the ghosts that haunt him. After his greatest asset in solving crime flings himself from a building, Greg is once again faced with too many sleepless nights. When a forceful spirit and a troubling case appear, an innocent man could end up in prison. Out of desperation, Greg turns to the one person who can help him: Mycroft Holmes.

Sherlock looks up on his name, his hands wrapped tightly around each other, and he blinks at John expectantly.
“Yes?” he says, and John takes a deep breath, letting the air leave his body in a sort of pained whistle. There’s a pit in his stomach that he knows isn’t just there from knowing what is about to happen. It’s years of waiting and watching and hoping and always, always being let down, and now for some reason John decides that he needs to tell him.
He deserves to know.

But after the said events at the conclusion of A Scandal in Belgravia, so much remains undisclosed about their interesting relationship: an adventure in Berlin in the wake of The Reichenbach Fall ties them closer together, prying open their icy hearts once more. But even later still, in the aftermath of The Final Problem, an old enemy returns to seal Sherlock's fate. Rated T for bits of sexual discussion and implications, language, and violence. In chapter three, a character recollects the struggle leading up to a rape (I don't write the gory, explicit sexual details of the rape). Post-Pakistan, Post-Reichenbach, Post-S4. Sticks to the canon, with author's own imagined Adlock possibilities. Full of Sherlockian action... :)
