Summary
6. Beelzebub/Aziraphale
Aziraphale had never expected to fall in love.
Crowley loving him back was even less expected, but something he was very thankful for.Finding Beelzebub banging on the entryway of his Bookshop, declaring —screaming— their love for (and he couldn’t emphasize this enough) The Archangel Fucking Gabriel was also not something Aziraphale had expected at all.

Summary
The apocalypse had been averted, and right at the last minute too. Crowley considered them lucky, even more so that Aziraphale had been able to figure everything out.
The bureaucracy had come down too, Gabriel and Beelzebub making a fuss about a war and getting their forces to stand down after getting all excited.
So after all was said and done, the apocalypse had been averted. Now they just had to figure out what Agnes Nutters prophecy meant.
Now of course, in the other universes it's the demon Crowley who gets captured by heaven when disguised as the angel Aziraphale and the angel Aziraphale who gets captured by hell when disguised as the demon Crowley.
In this universe an angel does still go to hell, and a demon does still go to heaven, both still in disguise. Just it's Crowley wearing the disguise of a demon and Aziraphale wearing the disguise of an angel this time

Summary
"Crowley, dear, what was my trial like, when you were in heaven?"
Aziraphale asked, swirling his glass of wine contemplatively, eyes fixed on the demon with interest.
Crowley gave him an odd, tentative look,
"Angel, you didn't have a trial."

Summary
The prophecies of Agnes Nutter were indeed nice and accurate, however the first volume was always meant to deal with the events up to and including averting Armageddon and no further.
There never was a prophecy about choosing their faces wisely so the switch didn't happen. Can Aziraphale and Crowley survive their trials without it?

Summary
Aziraphale doesn't catch Agnes Nutter's last prophecy, and each is dragged to their respective "trial" in their own body.

Summary
The thing Heaven always got wrong about Aziraphale, Crowley thought, was that they saw him as a sword. An aggressor, a wrathful smiter, a soldier of Heaven. But he wasn’t that at all—Aziraphale was always and had always been a shield.
OR--Crowley is having a bad day, and somehow Aziraphale failed to mention the fact Heaven might potentially be trying to murder him as well.

Summary
The demon occasionally known as Eric, and more commonly known as 'hey you' or 'he'll do' or 'dinner', hovered nervously in the lift. He was watching the floor number as it ticked ever higher, towards a place he'd never expected to see again and didn't much want to see now. The pan in his hand was warm and light – much lighter than something so dangerous should be. It wasn't dangerous to him though, so it wasn't his problem.

Summary
Then the angel looks up at Eric, merciless and unafraid, and all their bravado vanishes.
Something about the face is familiar to them; the softness, the lines of care etched onto it. But the eyes are too cold, too uncaring. They keep expecting to see the angel crying; not from fear, but pity and remorse. They cannot imagine why.
A memory washes over them, burning like sulfur.
