Summary
It's not as if you didn't want to go see Jim, you very much so wanted to. Knowing that he was pursuing you drove your crazy. He'd told you that first night that he thinks about you; you wondered what he thought about doing to you. But that entire thought process was the problem. You couldn't keep feeding into these selfish desires. You weren't sure if there was anything you could do to make this up to Clarissa. How would she react when she found out? You knew the longer you waited, the longer you let this go on, the worse it would become. The more you spoke to James, the more attached to him you got. You hated that it was more than the stupid crush you had when it all started; you were actually starting to like him. And that only made it worse.

'what if she finds out'
'Calm down, do as you're told.'
Oh, so that's how he was going to act about it?
Before you could respond, Clarissa was snapping her fingers in front of your face.
"Heellloooo?! Earth to (y/n)! We're working on a portfolio, remember?"
You blinked rapidly, dropping your phone in your lap.
"Uh," your mouth was dry. "Yeah, sorry."

Summary
"Would you mind running in and grabbing me another one of these?" he asked you, sheepishly, reaching up to rub the back of his neck.
You quirked a brow at him, crossing your arms over your chest, "Can I have one?" you asked, only half kidding.
He laughed, stepping around you to discard the empty bottle in the trash.
"How old are you again?" he asked playfully, moving to pick up his guitar.
You smiled ruefully, taking a small step towards the door leading to the inside of the house.
"Nineteen. Don't act like you don't know."
He hummed, taking a seat in a worn stool, his guitar resting in his lap. "Fine," he answered, flexing his fingers. "But you've gotta stay here. I don't want you driving."

Summary
A soft knock sounded at the door, and you almost jumped out of your skin. Maybe horror movies weren't the best choice for the night. You took a breath, steadying yourself, before standing and walking to the door. Another knock followed, almost impatient, and you swung the door open.
It was James, and he looked surprised at the door suddenly opening. He cleared his throat awkwardly, giving you a shy smile. His hair was falling into his face, and you fought back the instinct to lean up and push it behind his ear. You gave him a warm smile, dropping your hand from the doorknob.
"What's up?" you asked quietly, peeking behind him into the dark hall.
It was quiet, everyone was asleep. You honestly hadn't expected James to be up either.
"Uh," he cleared his throat again, not quite making eye contact with you. "Can't sleep, just wanted to see what you were up to."
