Summary
Zuko had never excelled at anything. Azula was a prodigy. Uncle always knew what to say. And Father... Father was strong, iron-like. But Zuko had only ever been good at surviving. Putting one foot in front of the other in a grim show of stubborn determination, gritting his teeth and bearing it. Survival was all he had ever been taught. He knew how to do it. So when he was kidnapped by the Southern Water Tribe, he expected to fight as he always had. He didn’t expect to be taught instead how to live.
In a warring land, the Water Tribe forgave the enemy in an act of defiance, an act of kindness in a world so accustomed to blood. For this, he was torn from them, and this time, his wounds won't heal so easily.
Forced back into nothing but survival, the last person Zuko expected to see was Hakoda's son. Hakoda was a promise of safety. The relentless blue of Sokka’s eyes was a promise of happiness. Zuko could have both if he just reached out his hands, but he found them clutching into fists. After all, he’d been burned one too many times.
But hey, at least between Hakoda and Sokka, Zuko could appreciate the family resemblance of pure, asinine stubbornness.

Summary
The Avatar is believed to be dead. The war against the Fire Nation rages on, the rebellion led by an organization of assassins called Last Hope. Hated by some, respected by others, the agency is known for their child assassins, taken from their families and trained to kill.
Sokka is one of Last Hope's most powerful child assassins. Last Hope chooses him to kill the Prince of the Fire Nation. Along with his friend and fellow assassin Toph, Sokka goes undercover as the Prince's bodyguard. A seasoned killer and scarily numb, Sokka fully expects to kill the Prince and leave the Fire Nation by the end of the week.
Prince Zuko of the Fire Nation was almost banished by his father but is instead dishonored and looked down on. Zuko, along with his friends Mai and Ty Lee, dream of fighting against the Fire Nation. Exhausted, breaking, and inexplicably lonely, Zuko sometimes wonders if he'll be able to last until the end of the week.
Sokka and Zuko long for freedom, Sokka from his agency and Zuko from his family. Once they meet, it doesn't take long for their notions of freedom to include each other. The problem is, Sokka and Zuko both have secrets and neither one of them is ready to tell the truth.

Summary
The war is over and things are beginning to settle down. There is still a lot that needs to be done after 100 years of war but progress is being made. Zuko is genuinely happy for the first time in a long time. This all changes when Ozai's supporters free him from prison, taking Zuko with them. After a few days of trying to find out where Zuko is, Ozai demands his bending returned in exchange for Zuko's life, promising he would torture Zuko every day he has to wait. Trying to avoid this, the Gaang sets off to look for Zuko before something irreversible is done to him. When he is retrieved through one method or another, is so broken, Zuko is barely a man that can be recognized as their friend anymore. It will take every resource they can find to put him back together.
In which everyone needs therapy and Zuko has severe trauma. I am bad at writing summaries but the story is better I swear.

Summary
Following the end of the war, the gaang splits up to continue their lives in times of peace. With everyone going their own ways and Toph the only one still at the Fire Nation place (as she didn't want to return home) becomes closer friends with Zuko during this time as she decides how to pass on the skill of metal bending. She refuses to leave him alone as she watches him sink into depression at the idea of being abandoned by everyone again. Considering they have one eye and two braincells that Zuko doesn't know how to use and Toph has never tired to use between them, their friendship causes mishaps as well as growth and support as they visit each other on various occasions usually resulting in Toph making a lot of enemies as she tries to drag the Fire Lord away from his duties. Then mix a solid amount of Zuko angst into that and here we go, this thing.
Zuko and Toph just vibe in this and have no thoughts head empty, they have the very close sibling dynamic, not dating.I am open to suggestions if there is a specific adventure anyone wants Zuko and Toph to go on.

Summary
He’s given up the embroidery again.
He doesn’t even try to pretend he doesn't miss it, but he’s still given it up.It’s sort of symbolic, in his mind anyway. It stands for all the things he
doesdoesn’t want to be.
It’s not like he even needs it, there’s no longer any need for him to work, and there’s plenty of things for him to do at the palace. Firebending training for one.His fire has been stronger recently, the inner flame stoked to an inferno. It’s burning him up, the constant heat, and taking it out on the wooden targets helps a little.
(Even if he’s sure that stitching would give him more of a relief ).
Or: Zuko revaluates his life choices in a number of high stress senarios

Summary
Zuko has a collection of wanted posters.
Their gradual accumulation hadn’t started out as an egotistical hobby, and it still isn’t one — it just serves as a reflection of his adventures, mainly in the fray of mild treason and generally-questionable-activities. And as a record of which covers were still available for good use, and which ones were actually to be arrested on the spot, and which ones were decidedly accomplished according to the lengthy warrant detailing which law he bent (smashed with a chair leg) which time.
He’s not a criminal.
or: zuko and his relationship with bending the law.
