Summary
In 2017 a sixteen year old girl was kidnapped when she was walking home from school. She was taken to a laboratory and forced to carry a mutant baby.
In 2018 Laura Howlett was born in an illegal research facility, where she was raised and put through brutal treatments to make her into a weapon.
In 2029 she escaped from the facility, helped by a nurse.
A week later, she found her biological father. A week later, she lost him.
Today, she is finally safe in Eden, back where she belongs.
More than 20 teenage girls, 6 mutant children, 4 nurses, a whole family, an elderly man, and two grown mutants were tortured and murdered by Alkali-Transigen during these years. The nightmare didn’t end the day Dr. Rice and his people were killed. For the affected survivors it is palpable every day.
This is the story of Laura’s mother…without her. -

Amelie has busted her ass in Manhattan bakeries and kitchens for ten years, but it was all worth it to open her own coffee shop in Westchester County. Opening 'Ginger's Snacks' is the fulfillment of she and her best friend's dream. If only Ginger had lived to see it. The shop is ready, all she needs is the clock to strike 6am.
**This is largely fluff, with slow burning smut to follow. It will use many elements of canon, but it is distinctly NOT canon. So try to forgive me if I have characters make decisions or behave in ways they never would in the comics, cartoons, or movies. Try to enjoy them for who they are in the moment, because I've tried very hard to make them compelling and nuanced - even if they aren't perfect.

Logan doesn’t mind Christmas. It’s all the other bullshit frippery that grinds his gears. Shopping, presents, decorating, seeing people you dislike but having to pretend everything is fine because 'you don't fight at Christmas' even if they really fuckin' need a pop in the mouth. It sucks. Being with people you actually like and eating a decent meal barely makes up for the nonsense.
All he really wants this year is to hole up in his shop and work on his bike. Is that too much to ask?
** This is a pre-Amelie Logan story, focused exclusively on our main man - it does not require any backstory from my other Logan fic (A Normal Life), but there are some little Easter eggs for readers of that story to find. When Charles Xavier senses that two mutants may be in serious danger, Logan and Rogue race to find them. Little does he know -upon meeting one of the mutants- Logan will soon have a connection with her that is stronger and more powerful than he ever imagined.

Johanna Rivera has had nowhere close to a normal life.
From the mysterious death of her beloved mother -and grappling with the odd disappearance of her younger cousin- all Johanna wants now is peace and normalcy; hoping to finally heal from the constant pain and suffering.
However -when Johanna least expects it- her world abruptly turns upside down when she literally runs into a man she will later know as Logan, the Wolverine -a wolflike mutant with a hidden past, and a future that somehow involves her as well.
With the help from Logan and the X-Men -both old members and new ones- Johanna will have to make an important decision: join the X-men and fight for freedom or risk getting captured and die.
