Beaujester Week Day 1: First Kiss
The thin purple streak curving along Jester’s cheekbone has been catching Beau’s eye all morning.
Not that she’s staring; the sun just keeps glinting off the shimmery paint and reflecting into her eyes, that’s all. It’s distracting. She needs sunglasses just to avoid the glare of that paint, it’s brighter than the sun.
Jester’s been in and out of her general area all day, but everytime she pops back up, the flash of paint captured Beau’s gaze, and she can’t focus on anything else while Jester is in her line of sight.
Because of the glare. Obviously.

Summary
Ushijima knows that (1) obviously, manufactured wings like the ones described in the story would never work and (2) in the troposphere, altitude and temperature are inversely related, meaning that the higher one goes, the colder it gets because of the density of air particles decreases as altitude increases, so, really Icarus would have died from the lack of oxygen before he was able to get close enough for the Sun to melt away his wings. Eita says that Ushijima is dumber than a pile of rocks because clearly that isn’t the point of the story.
What Ushijima doesn’t know is what role Hinata Shouyou fills: is he Icarus, or is he the Sun?
He supposes it doesn’t matter— even the Sun must obey the laws of gravity.
or: Hinata Shouyou doesn't know how to doubt himself. He believes he can fly, and so he does.

In the end, the Horde failed. Catra saw it coming. She’d always known how fierce Adora could be, how determined. She was not surprised when Adora took on Hordak one-on-one. She did not charge in to help when Hordak called desperately for aid in that last battlefield, outside the oldest temple of the First Ones, the one place where he could either exert complete control over Etheria, or be utterly destroyed.
Unfortunately, that was really only the start of their problems.

Summary
Atsumu thinks, how hard could it be? Spending one season on an international team? If Tobio could do it so could he. Never mind he doesn’t know any Portuguese and his English is average at best.“See, this is you. We call a setter ‘levantador’.” Shouyou stresses out the last word and Atsumu tries to pay attention, he really does.
He knows this is important, he really is trying his best to learn, if only to make this whole season in another country more manageable. But the way Shouyou’s tongue touches the seam of his upper lip when he says that is terribly distracting.
He figures - Brazilian volleyball was one of the best in the world, if nothing else he would learn a lot. Maybe finally fill that void that ever since he graduated high school only made him want more and more and not find it.
What he did not expect was to find his future in a boy on the other side of the world.
