I have many regrets in my life.
One of which still haunts me today with shadows that creep on the edge of my mind as a constant reminder of my failures. I'm constantly reminded of my foolish mistakes that have cost a lot of people dearly - including those closest to me.
I'm different, of course, but not by choice; rather by the sciences that brought me to life. A fluke, really, as my birth is statistically impossible and has yet to be recreated.
I was born with great gifts, as my mother would've said. But these gifts are the gateway to a greater evil that has stolen the sanity and lives of those who remain closest to me. Their minds ripped from their heads while their souls ripped from their bodies. They remain in the material realm, yes, but they are no longer who I knew them as "Mother" and "Father" - they were stolen away from me.
... but who would've thought it? The greatest thing that breaths life into things... is also a harbinger of death.
