    Summary

A new mystery befalls Khelathra-Ven when a device that causes unbearable fear is set off during one of Yasmine Benamara's writers' salons. The Myrmidons are busy with another, more pressing emergency, so Second Augur Lawson drops the case at the doorstep of noted consulting sorceress and occasional detective Shaharazad Haas. Rather than take on the case herself, she leaves it to us, Captain John Wyndham's own Martyrs Walk Irregulars.

With cadaverous windfalls, artistic rivalries, buried secrets, and underwater intrigues to discover, it's sure to be a most rousing adventure.

In general there are several different file export options you'll see used. Both by audacity or whatever device you're using to record with (especially your phone). Some of them will be easier to control than others. What I'll mostly be focusing on is audacity because that's the one that provides by far the most number of options.

How you choose to export your podfic can have a big impact on quality (if done improperly) or the size of the file you're asking people to download.

Links to lists of authors who've given blanket permission for various types of fancontent of fancontent as well as links to transformative works policy* meta that are podfic-centric but who's concepts could also extend beyond the podfic community to fancontent of fancontent in general.

Note: Quotes are summaries, my comments are on the whole thing not just the quotes.

*A transformative works policy is basically telling people if you are okay with people make fancontent of your content aka fanfic, art, videos, translations, podfic, repods etc or not.

If you’re anything like me, large projects intimidate just by not knowing where to start, and, how do I keep track of where I’m AT??? Podficcing, especially for longer works, runs to large projects with several moving parts.

    So.

Here is a breakdown of how I wrangle my distractibility into turning out polished work. This guide does not deal with the technical aspects of voice work or sound editing, but rather gives a template for managing the work. It is intended for beginners, but experts are welcome to chime in with their own best practice in the comments.
