"It's temporary," the healer assures him and Jin Ling exhales loudly from where he's standing at the foot of the bed. "Whatever it was that hit him, it caused a fluctuation within his spiritual energy. His core is weakened, but will recover in time. I believe the ah, deaging, was an instinctual response to protect the mind."
On the bed, Jiang Cheng lifts a tiny arm, pulling at the oddly assembled bundle of robes covering him and wiggling one of his bare feet.
He had fallen off his sword in the middle of a night-hunt after a bright crack of light had flashed across the horizon, just outside the cave the group was exploring. To Wei Wuxian and Jin Ling's horror, the purple clad man had descended quickly and when they finally got to him all that was left were his robes, lying in a jumbled mess and a crying child version of Sandu Shengshou.

Jiang Cheng nostrils flare, he lets his arm fall and Xue Yang sees the spark of Zidian uncoiling. "I expected you to be dead."
Xue Yang thinks this at least will be an entertaining way to die.Or the one where Xue Yang is captured before reaching Yi City and learns what happens to demonic cultivators in the hands of Sandu Shengshou.
