    Summary

Souls manifest as daemons and for 90% of humans, they are mostly invisible, existing within their minds or only appearing while their human is under any form of duress to comfort or to rescue. The settling occurs at puberty for these humans and their daemons never ever change form. Some may never even touch their daemons until their deathbed. Then there are the 10% who have corporeal daemons, 5% of whom are also able to get their daemons to change whether at will or depending on their moods. What were the actual mathematical chances of having both the co-leads in The Untamed in the most special bracket of that 5% where only 1% of them have daemons with magic of their own and enough independence away from their humans to wreak their own special brand of havoc?

Yibo is transfixed at the sight of Xiao Zhan’s wide smile and sweetly upturned eyes. The little scrunch of his nose as he laughs. It makes the edges of his lip twitch too, and he huffs softly to relieve the bubbling feeling in his chest.

“Ah, sorry. I was a bit surprised there.” Xiao Zhan lifts himself up, walking closer before crouching down and taking both of Yibo’s roughened hands in his, surprisingly smaller ones. “Yibo, isn’t it? You can call me Zhan-ge.”

“Zhan-ge,” he replies dumbly, and gets another brilliant smile in return.

    Summary

With the new word added to his vocabulary, A-Yuan found himself realizing how much that word was everywhere.

    Mama. Mom.

It was there when his father took him to the park to play. Other kids had a father, just like him, but besides that person was another. It was usually a woman. They did the exact same thing a Baba would do. Kneel down when the kids scrapped their knees, kiss it better, smile and tell them to be careful.

For some reason, the sight made A-Yuan’s heart squeeze.

“A-Yuan has a Ma,” he would murmur during those times. “He’s just lost.”

But the question kept swimming on the back of his head.

    Where was he?

    Summary

Lan Sizhui grows up missing someone. It’s in the music of a dizi, in a paper butterfly, in the way he rubs his nose unconsciously when he’s upset, in the red ribbon he keeps tucked away, in a million little things he knows even though no one has told him.
Lan Sizhui knows he’s missing his mother. It’s what makes the most sense; his father is grieving, and his mother isn’t here with them to sing him to sleep like Jingyi’s used to do. He can’t remember his mother, and that’s what hurts the most; he doesn’t understand how he can mourn her properly when he doesn’t even remember her.

or the one where Lan Sizhui grows up missing someone he thinks is lost to him forever, gets his memories back and realizes that he was missing the right person in the wrong name, and finally gets his other father back.
