5-year-old Sara, blonde hair in pigtails, freckles everywhere, kind blue eyes, mischievous smile missing a couple of teeth, dimple in chin. It’s summer and they are on Ava’s front yard, running around and laughing. Sara’s face on the yellow and orange hues of summer air. They are surrounded by the lingering smell that warm sunsets seem to carry with them, the smell of home, of feeling loved, of being safe."
