Lan Wangji breathes in.
"We'll see each other in a month," he points out, although he also wishes to see his beloved. After a moment, he adds: "Miss Wei Ying, too."
Wei Ying groans.
"Er-gege! Don't say it when I can't kiss you, it just makes me miss you more! A month is way too long, can't we see each other sooner?"
"Wei Ying-"
"Yeah, I know. We're needed at our sects. I know that. I just want to see you."
Lan Wangji sighs. He shares the sentiment but they are currently too busy to freely see each other, especially since the conference is so soon. He doesn't wish for his fiancé to be sad but the fact remains that neither of them can make the journey right now.
"Hey, Lan Zhan."
"Mm?"
"I love you. I'll see you soon, yeah?"
"Love you too."
