Elaine loved her son, even if she wasn't dancing for joy over his choice in girlfriend.

And then she sees Maddie, also with the new girl and is both a little angry and a little alarmed. What exactly is going on here?

“Act as my champion in the upcoming tournament of the Great Sun,” Emhyr pronounced slowly, as though Geralt was a particularly stupid child. “Some part of this is confusing to you?”
“Why?” Geralt asked, and even he could hear the hopelessness in his voice. He wasn’t expecting to get a clear answer out of Emhyr. No one ever did.
Geralt gets himself talked into spending five days alone with Emhyr while other people try to make him bleed for points. They succeed a lot.
And then, Emhyr kisses him.

"How'd you know?" He questioned, resigned.
Keith tipped his head back and stared at him, incredulous. As if Shiro had offended him by even asking.
"I've known you since we were kids. We grew up together. We lived together." He squinted up at him. "You think I wouldn't recognise you even in that geeky outfit? God, one look at those posters and I knew it was you."
Shiro closed his eyes in despair, even though he should have known Keith of all people would figure it out.
When Shiro received his draft notice, he felt like his world was crumbling. Forced to leave behind his best friend and join the army, his life was irreversibly changed when he underwent an experimental procedure to create the perfect soldier.
Now, as Captain America, he found himself neck-deep in a war orchestrated by a shadow organisation known only as GALRA. With Keith at his side, and backed by a squad of unique individuals, Shiro was determined to put a stop the deadly operation and make them pay for what they did to him.
He was prepared to do whatever it took, to lose whatever he had to, to make that happen. Or he thought he was.
“Excellent!” She crowed, looking back at Harry with burning eyes. “Excellent.” She repeated, stepping through the broken glass like she did not even notice it was there. Her hand reached out and grasped Harry’s face tenderly, curling under the jut of her chin and lifting until their eyes met. “Maybe there is a little more Black in you than I first thought.”
“What?” Harry mumbled, her sight blurring horribly. She leaned into Walburga, desperate for support as her limbs turned numb.
Walburga’s grin was small but no less satisfied. “Destructive displays of accidental magic speak to a strong core. You just needed a push to unlock it. We will make a Black out of you yet, little star.”
Walburga Black, the last of her House, takes Harriet Potter into her care to give the Black family a future. Harriet, young and wilful and brilliant, is not what anyone - including Tom Riddle - expects.

“President Riddle,” he said, barely managing to cover his alarm. To keep the snarl from slipping onto his face.
Riddle—Marvolo?—smiled at him, a wine glass in his pale hand.
“Harry,” the man purred. “So nice to see you again.”
The realisation that the president, the man responsible for his current lifestyle, was the one to request him had Harry’s throat constricting in panic.
Harry had belonged to the Capitol since the moment he was pulled bloodied and broken from the arena, sand still clinging to his hair and Luna's blood caked under his fingernails. Passed between the upper echelon, a pretty bauble for them to touch and fuck and own, he was haunted by his memories. But beneath the frost slowly encroaching on his heart, there was an ember.
Fluttering. Weak. But there.
And it was that ember that caught the attention of the one man in the world he hated more than himself.
