Lán Zhàn swallowed, then looked Wèi Yīng in the eyes. "You want to be pregnant," she said.
Wèi Yīng choked on her own saliva. "What?" she asked, when she could speak again.
"You wish to bear our child," Lán Zhàn said. She was so calm, saying the most ridiculous things, and Wèi Yīng felt as much fondness as annoyance at how easily Lán Zhàn could see through all her defenses. "You gravitate toward pregnancy as though you can sense it and you spend hours asking questions about how it feels."
Wèi Yīng and Lán Zhàn expand their family. In the process, Wèi Yīng remembers her past family and learns to move forward with their memory.
