"..Do we need a reason to not wanting to die?"
14 Apr 2021
Cale never says how much it hurts, and how much he wants it to stop. He would conceal his feelings and keep on fighting, enduring the pain. He's stubborn. Others might find it irritating, and to be frank, Choi Han does find it annoying sometimes. But it's one of the traits that make Cale who he is. And Choi Han can't help but love it.

Thanks to Raon, Cale's companions finally get a small snippet into his mind. A lighthearted day that exists within the many empty, slacker-filled moments Cale spends between the pages of the novel.

All he’d wanted was a few peaceful days with the children, Cale thinks, as all his plans go to shit and his dream of peacefully being a slacker seems more distant than the sun, so how’d it end up like this?
Following the demise of the stupid White Star bastard and the greatest battle in all of history, Cale and the children spend a few days in Roan’s capital. They’d planned to relax in one of their many homes, buy out a whole bakery of apple pies, and maybe drop by the newly crowned king’s bedroom to rob him of his cookies, money, and remaining sanity.
All of said plans are subsequently derailed, torn to shreds, and lit on fire when Roan’s citizens cry out his name like he’s their savior and gawk at him like he’s the bloody messiah. And, to make matters worse, his own children want to take part in the ensuing, pseudo-cult-like activity. He just wanted to rest, why are they throwing a festival? Who the hell funded this?
It’s extremely difficult (statistically impossible) to quietly live as a slacker when your name is Cale Henituse and you’re loved by almost every existence in this world.
