Geralt drew his silver sword as he finally reached the cobblestone streets that led into the town. He didn’t think he would need it; he had a good idea of what was down here, but it never hurt to be prepared and more than one creature might have inhabited this abandoned town. He passed building after building, following the wailing closer to the source. The sheer volume of it hurt his sensitive ears and he growled, annoyed.
The singing immediately stopped, and he heard several loud splashes followed by ear ringing silence.

Summary
They have an arrangement for these days when Crowley can't find words to ask for what he wants. This is how it begins.
Aziraphale says nothing. He only watches Crowley with that patient look on his face. Crowley knows he's waiting for him to approach. The angel never asks Crowley for this. It is never Aziraphale who seeks control. Rather, it is always Crowley who must relinquish it.
So Crowley stumbles forward on unsteady legs, collapsing into a tangle of limbs at Aziraphale's feet and pressing the leash into the angel’s hand, the sheen of the gold leather catching the light.
When Aziraphale's fingers close around the leash, Crowley drops his hand with a sigh. Total surrender. The relief of it is all-consuming, intoxicating, filling him all at once. He kneels quietly with his head bowed at the angel's feet, awaiting his will.

In my Regency 'verse, the homophobia that Will and Hannibal would have been faced with in reality simply does not exist. Love and marriage are available to all, regardless of gender. After all, as a dear Fannibal (inameitlater) said to me when I started writing this, 'We need to dream of better worlds.'
