    Summary

"It’s not that his peers are inherently cruel to the Quirkless. Izuku firmly believes that, if the truth ever got out to his classmates, they would still welcome him with open arms. At the same time though, acceptance does not necessarily mean they are well-informed on the subject. His classmates might be well-intentioned, but sometimes the words that come out of their mouths cut deeper than even he could have ever expected."

    OR

In which Izuku possesses the words and knowledge to try and correct his classmate's misguided beliefs concerning Quirkless people, but actually communicating them is another challenge altogether.

    Bookmarker's Notes

They talk about Quirkless people, Izuku realizes, as if they’re a hypothetical. It’s not malicious. It isn’t that Quirkless people are the scum of society, as so many others seem to believe. Rather, the group of classmates who are talking just have never had to encounter an actual Quirkless person before. They don’t think there’s reason to believe that anyone in their presence would have a personal stake in the issue and thus treat it as a fun debate.

Izuku can’t fault them for the assumption. After all, for all they know he has a strong, albeit volatile, Quirk. Still though, unease curls inside of him and all he wants to do is either challenge them on their bias against Quirkless people or flee the room altogether. Maybe even one right after the other.

    Summary

"If the world feels too big you should always call me. I'll find a way to come help." And Izuku had smiled so wide he felt like all his teeth were showing and Hisashi had curled his arms snug against Izuku's whole body. "I mean it Izuku. Papa can fix anything."

"Anything?" To anyone else, Hisashi's responding grin would have been no more than a wolf's snarl. Izuku just giggled because he knew even then that it was a yes.

Without a thought Eri's in his arms, memory striking away any possible hesitance he felt. Rising with her in one arm, he reaches around his belt as he jogs quietly the way he came. Deaf to the world around them he dials a number he's known by heart for every waking memory despite not using it in so many years.

    Bookmarker's Notes

When the sheer joy of seeing her quirk fix instead of hurt overtook her the fear left her little body and Rewind stopped on its own. Hisashi Midoriya (nee Shigaraki) was left whole again. And Izuku was left trembling in that alley as Eri passed out against All For One's chest.

"What the fuck," Izuku squeaked out. All for One- Hisashi- His DAD had the gall to laugh at him for that. "What the fuck! Dad?!"

"Now that I can breathe fire again without worrying about my oxygen lighting my face on fire. Yes. Luke, I am your father." He paused dramatically while Izuku struggled to place the quote.

"Don't just- are you really referencing Pre-Quirk media at me right now? Star Trekkie or whatever?" Hisashi let out a pained wheeze. Obviously not the right name for that then.

    Summary

“You’re acting so out of character for yourself. I’m just not sure what you’re saying is real.”

“What I’m s- what the hell, of course everything I’m saying is real!” Bakugou snaps, nose scrunched in an offended snarl. “Is it really that hard to believe I’d own up to my shit?”

Alright, now Izuku is sure he’s at least having auditory hallucinations. He barks out a laugh, looks Bakugou straight in the eye, and says “Yes.”

Then Izuku spins on his heel and books it down the hallway.

    Bookmarker's Notes

The first time it happens, it comes so completely out of nowhere that Izuku is pretty sure he’s hallucinating.

    "You… what?"

"I said, I'm sorry. Don't make me repeat it again, Deku."

“I got enough sleep last night, didn’t I?” Izuku mumbles to himself, “Pretty sure I got at least 5 hours. I’ve gone through days on less before, and nothing like this ever happened, so it makes no sense for a lack of sleep to be the reason now. Maybe all the exhaustion has been building up? Can that happen? Can exhaustion accrue interest?"

“Deku, what the actual fuck are you talking about?” Hallucination Bakugou asks, looking a weird mix of nervous and irritated.

    Summary

Izuku manages to consistently use One for All at 100%, without breaking himself, half way through his second year. He graduates with that power tightly regulated, completely under his control; his quirk is his, completely.

The graduated class 3A has a word for it when Izuku - Deku - goes 100%. It's a physical sensation, they learned early; a pressure in the air and on their lungs and down to their bones and blood. Everyone within his vicinity can feel it.

    They call it going green.

And then, in a fight against the villain Jupiter, Deku goes green for the first time since UA.

One third of the people at the scene collapse to their knees.

    Bookmarker's Notes

He’s lightening masquerading as a human figure, features indistinguishable from the sheer light emitted from his form, a crackling optical illusion that hurts to look at. She sees him only in burning sunspot afterimages, left far behind in the next second of his movement. He is lightning in its basest form, a phenomenon, a god.

He’s so bright, but his smile is real and reassuring, the only spot of warmth.

Danger, her instincts insist. Her mouth tastes of iron.

But she knows that's not right. That his power is on their side, and she’s so relieved she could cry with it. Deku is there to help them, Deku will help them. He always does, he makes sure to save everyone. It had gotten him into trouble in cases before, when he went against orders to make sure that everyone got out okay, no matter what.

Deku is a hero - is on their side.

She still feels pressure like she’s being crushed.

    Summary

There’s too many blank notebooks sitting on his shelves (seven, he has seven—he sees good sales and he just has to buy them, because one can never have too many notebooks) so he grabs one and opens it and slaps it onto his desk and grabs a black pen from his pen holder, sending the other writing utensils in it rattling.
He clicks the pen, exposing the tip, and writes, at the top of the page, in bold black ink:
Time Loop Analysis For The Present
(Titling his things has always made him feel better, and it helps even now, a balm on his nerves.)

    adjective

    2. having the appearance of an optical illusion, especially one produced by a magic lantern.
    3. changing or shifting, as a scene made up of many elements.

    Bookmarker's Notes

There’s no saving Kacchan, and there’s no saving himself because he can’t see Hawks, he can’t find him, even though his feathers are what just killed his—his—his Kacchan, Hawks is nowhere to be seen—

At least, not until that same sword-sharp primary slices through Izuku’s flesh, from the front, this time. This time, unlike the others, it doesn’t stop, it just keeps going, in and out, through and through in one motion.

It hurts, just as much as it did the first time.
