Several years after the fall, Hannibal and Will are captured and separated. Hannibal is sent back to prison, while Will ends up in hospital after being almost fatally shot. To guarantee Will's freedom, Hannibal announces that he kidnapped Will after they killed Dolarhyde, and has kept him captive since. As such, Will has to pretend to be the Chesapeake Ripper's last victim, while secretly trying to break his beloved out of prison.
Old friends turn to enemies, new acquaintances present new opportunities, and both Will and Hannibal have to reveal parts of themselves they've never showed the world before. Can they find their way back to each other, and how many sacrifices will it take?

Frederick Chilton had just stopped by his cell to gloat that he apparently had a son and that he would never get the chance to meet him. As skeptical as he had been at first, he had to admit that the papers proving their genetic relation seemed to be genuine.
