“I could show you,” Keith offers. “It’s quite the collection; kind of proud of it.”
Lance laughs faintly. “How about we save it for—for the next time we meet in person?”
“When’s that happening, by the way? It’s been a while.”
“Meaning you miss us dearly, don’t you?” he teases. Keith grumbles at him, and he grins to an absent audience. “But, ah, I don’t think we’ll see each other anytime, um, soon, unfortunately.”
“Things are getting busy on your end, huh?”
Lance hums. His gaze slides down to his right leg. To torn skin and shredded muscle, white bone peeking out. To blood, to a soaked-through suit, to the pool under his shin painting the snow-dusted ground a stark red.
He smiles weakly. “Something like that.”

Zap.
He feels pressure against his knee. He glances down to find long, brown fingers touching him. Oh, boy, he thinks. Breathe. It’s just Lance. Same Lance you’ve been friends with for nearly a year now. Right.
Lance shakes Keith’s knee good-naturedly and Keith doesn’t have to look up to know that Lance is sporting an easy grin. Equal parts fond and teasing. Keith still takes a peek, though. As corny as it is, Lance’s smile is on his top 10 favorite things to look at.
Keith has read enough Reddit threads to know where this is going for him. He doesn’t know why people romanticize having a crush. He doesn’t understand why some people seek out this unsettling feeling. It’s awful. He feels like he’s on the verge of vomiting every time Lance looks at him.
His heart starts acting funny and his cheeks have become increasingly susceptible to blushing. It’s not right. Or healthy, for that matter and in all honesty, he wants out. He did not ask for any of this.

Keith, Lance, & Hunk do the TikTok trend where you play a song and clap in a circle and whoever the music stops on has to call their crush and tell them they like them. Based off of an actual tiktok (it’s so cute!). Klance ensues.

Summary
Lance has known Keith for what feels like forever. They’ve known each other since elementary school, even though they’ve only been friends since middle school. And despite their past of ‘hatred’, they’ve shared a close rivalry and friendship for years now.
Keith got Lance through freshman year. He and Keith are almost inseparable.
But when Lance falls in love with him, all of that could change.Or, an alternative title: "5 times Keith told Lance he loved him, and 1 time Lance knew it was romantic."

Keith is a painter, but no one would recognize him. Most people don’t recognize artists, just their art. But there's no way even art fanatics would recognize Keith. There’s a reason he signs his work as “Akira” and not as himself.
Keith sometimes goes to this one coffee shop for inspiration. He used to just go there rarely, to look out the windows and observe the world.
Keith goes almost every day now. See, there’s this guy. His name is Lance. He’s got these bright blue eyes and he loves talking about coffee and what his favorite drink is to make. And whenever he sees Keith, he says hi.
Lance's favorite painter is Akira, especially because they're the same age. Lance is majoring in digital art at college.
Keith has never had a problem expressing emotions in his paintings. But Lance is impossible to express.
