Artemis heaved a sigh and curled further into the couch. Brucely gave a lazy yawn next to her, cuddling closer. “It’s the flu, Dick. I get it at least once a year, just ask Wa-” she stopped. “My mom. Just ask Mom, she’ll tell you the same thing. What I need is some peace and quiet for once in my life to get over this bug, and then I’ll be right back up there in the space junk with the superkiddies.”

He turned to meet the clear hazel eyes and smirking lips he knew would be waiting behind him. She seemed at once the same brazen, stringy girl he had last seen at seventeen and an entirely new, alluring stranger; however, the thought itself should not have surprised him – he had always known her entire being to be built around such contradictions. “Sif,” he greeted, not unpleasantly, though perhaps with a touch of caution. They had not parted on… congenial terms.
He had not parted with any of them on congenial terms.
His hesitation was laid to rest, however, when he noticed how her grin reached her eyes, making her entire continence seemingly glow in the low light of the book stacks.

Summary
When Katara stays behind in Ba Sing Se to help plan the invasion, she ends up running into a familiar face in the Upper Ring of the city. But Zuko insists he's changed and that he's not trying to capture Aang anymore. And the crazy thing is, Katara believes him. With everyone else on their own adventures for the time being, Katara finds herself spending more and more time with the exiled Fire Nation prince. Days begin to include nights, and she wonders how in the world she is going to explain things when her friends return, but before she gets a chance, Ba Sing Se falls to Azula's hand, Zuko is captured, and Aang is nearly killed.
Katara decides not to say anything until they can rescue Zuko, but a discovery made while hiding out in the Fire Nation might force her hand.
