“You have me, silly,” Wei Wuxian responds off-handedly. Lan Zhan just whines again in response, tugging him so close it feels like he’s trying to meld their physical bodies together through pure will.

"Tell me to stop," he said, tightening his grip on Wei Ying's hair. Wei Ying winced, but his defiant stare did not waver. For the first time since Lan Wangji had met him, his mouth stayed stubbornly shut. Lan Wangji nodded.
"Punishment," he continued, barely able to hear himself over the roaring in his ears, "For inappropriate behaviour."
"And you call me shameless, Lan Zhan?" he said, with a shadow of the teasing from before, belied by the breathless quality of his voice, the uncharacteristic stillness of his body.
