Summary
Glimmer used to love to write, especially stories about her very original and cool heroine Shimmer and her cat stroking nemesis Felina. Stumbling across the works now, though, was an exercise in humiliation. They're so corny and repetitive. And worst of all, the inspiration for Felina lives with them now, and she's nothing like her character.

Catra didn't really like birthdays. They were fine, she supposes, but not her idea of fun. After all, birthdays weren’t a thing in the Horde.
Like all the orphans who weren’t born into the Horde, the date in Catra's files was the date she was found, same as Adora’s. Or, at least that’s what Catra assumed. She’d never checked.
Scorpia did check, though, like every other aspect about Catra. She didn’t know about birthdays either, back in their Horde days, so it never came up, but Catra was able to trace the moment the princess found out they existed as a cultural concept to 5 minutes before a very excited vidcall.

Adora crash lands on Etheria as a baby, proving alien life exists. A few years later, a magicat ship crashes, and a kitten is the only one to survive the crash.
Catra and Adora aren't the same, but neither of them are human either. They grow up together, aliens from a wider world neither of them knows, tearing through Area 51 as they grow into themselves and wait for when they are old enough to face this world and be known.

"If I leave now, I'll never see you again," Adora states slowly as the truth sinks in. She glances at the raft on the water, then back to Catra, who's holding her arms close to her chest. Light Hope had told her there would be consequences, Adora never considered that meeting Catra would be one of them.
"You are a hero, Adora," Catra reminds her. She says hero as if it's a tainted word, an insult, a disgrace. "Heroes don't stay."
"I'll come back," Adora says. "I won't just leave you here.”
Something flickers in Catra's eyes. "No one ever finds Ogygia twice," she says.

Summary
All should be well for Adora and Catra. They have successfully escaped from that netherworld between dimensions—defeated the cruel magical entity known as Chasm, and returned Angella to her family. And they are together now, back on Etheria. Safe from Chasm in a universe where peace still reigns.
But regardless of how she tries, or how Catra attempts to soothe her, Adora cannot shake her unease. Images of Chasm and wounded loved ones continue to torture Adora in vivid nightmares, nightmares that cannot be treated or willed away. Nightmares that force Adora to wonder whether Chasm dealt Adora some kind of lifelong curse, back before her escape from Chasm's dreamworld.
And worst of all, even with a dimension of separation between them...Adora cannot quell the fear that Chasm might someday return. Return, and again seek She-Ra's power for herself.
