Summary
Clint Barton never was more than a lonesome nobody, circus hick with countless grudges and scars, runaway orphan with an authority problem. And he was doing fine. Or at least, had been doing fine. That was until he nearly died and the only place he had dared calling home had burned to the ground. Sent away by the circus's fortune teller and chased by monsters straight out of his nightmares he makes his way to some random camp on Long Island. A place filled with people like him. Summary
Bucky had wanted to woo Clint properly, escort him to balls and take him for country walks, and make sure that Clint knew just how precious he was to Bucky before he finally proposed. He’d wanted Clint to say yes with his eyes wide open and nothing coercing him beyond how he felt about Bucky.
Instead, Bucky had barely said ten words to him before the deal had been struck with his father, and now he was having to try and woo Clint after they were already married, when he was clearly suspicious about the circumstances he had ended up in.
The first time Bucky saw Clint, he fell in love. It took him seven years after that to marry him and now all he wants is to make sure he's happy. Even if it means giving up everything he's been hoping for.

There was a flower-covered carriage waiting to take them to the wedding breakfast. Once inside, Clint couldn't stop himself from curling over his knees, desperately trying to take a deep breath. He'd just bound himself to a stranger for the rest of his life. What had he been thinking?
There was a brief touch to his shoulder and he looked up to see Barnes giving him a concerned look. “I promise it won't be that bad.”
When Clint's father decides that he should marry the wounded war hero Lieutenant Barnes, Clint doesn't get a lot of choice in the matter. Still, no matter how bad Barnes is to live with, surely it couldn't be worse than staying in his father's house. Could it?

So as if Clint pulling a nearly-dying stunt wasn't bad enough, Bucky now has to deal with Clint's sidekick/younger brother blaming him for the entire mess. Frankly, Bucky thinks a) that Clint should sort himself out and stop running away, b) Steve and Tony should put a leash on their kid, and c) Thor and his friends should back the hell off.
