Summary
Being a leader meant putting the team before his own feelings, being a rock, a solid foundation to build their confidence. Being a leader meant saving face in times of crisis, even personal ones, for the sake of all those who relied on him. Being a leader meant being strong-willed and confident in times of need, a guiding hand to lead those who needed him. A leader was not someone who faltered under great stress. A leader was not someone who pursued hypotheticals and what-ifs for personal gain. A leader was not someone who chased after ghosts and tried to catch them in his hands at the cost of the blood of the living.
Yet Kurusu Akira could not let go of a dead man.

Summary
Goro Akechi, youngest detective in Shibuya, model university student, and generally all-around beloved public figure, has been quietly nursing a spiteful grudge against the man who has meticulously controlled his image for his entire life. Now he has the opportunity to use his modest fame to hit his father where it hurts the most – his reputation – and roping a hapless barista into being his pretend lover is just the way to do it.

Cast aside by his family and the rest of the world, Akira Kurusu is left bitter and jaded. Seemingly a prisoner of his own fate, Akira's resentment only festers until he meets Goro Akechi, who urges him to use that anger to seek out revenge against the world that has forsaken him.
It isn't until one year later that Akira is exposed to the possibility of changing hearts - of rehabilitation. But after being dragged so far down, will he still reach out to the light?

Summary
Goro Akechi had a sister, a family, and a plan. It certainly didn't involve some delinquent transfer student, but fate was never so kind to Goro — thus, he met Akira Kurusu.
(OR: How would the fate of the Phantom Thieves change if Akechi had been adopted by Wakaba and attended Shujin?)

Summary
The Phantom Thieves were as the rumors stated; Pirates with a sense of justice, taking down the ships of corrupt individuals and returning stolen treasures back to their homes, keeping the rest for themselves.
Their routine was simple. Find the ship, beat the pirates, and get the treasure. They usually found Gold and silver, maybe some jewelry, too—but they’ve never found a live merman on deck before. And taking care of him is probably their most difficult mission yet.
