Summary
Daryl Dixon was a friend of a friend who actually wasn’t a friend in the end. Though they’d known each other for years now thanks to their common ground by the names of Aaron and Eric dragging them along, they rarely interacted with each other out of personal interest toward the other and when they did, they’d end up arguing until they were pulled apart.

When Rick is assigned to take a new rookie under his wings, he never thought he’d be lucky enough to get such a diamond in the rough like Sophia Peletier. She had fierce green eyes, speaking of experience despite being so young and clearly fresh out of the academy, his initial thought of the brief first impression was; smart, sharp and not to be underestimated. Through her and her way of implementing him into her life, he gets to know her legal guardian, who’s raised her for years and although Rick never thought they’d get further than being able to tolerate one another, as he’s clearly hated, given time he may just find himself wrong.
Or the one where Rick’s first day with his fresh rookie officer, is the day his life is threatened.

Summary
Thomas puts aside his book then, sticking a leather bookmark between the pages. He reaches out, pulling James close, kissing him slowly and languidly until he relaxes underneath his touch. James can sense the tension draining out of his shoulders from the feeling of Thomas’ lips on his. Thomas smiles, running his fingers down the side of James’ throat, until they come to rest over his heart.
“This is part of why I fell in love with you,” he says. “Your heart has always been far too big to be occupied by just one person alone.”
*It has been five years since the events on Skeleton Island. James and Thomas are living a quiet life in a little cottage near Savannah, finally having begun to heal and reveling in the fact that they are together again. That is, until they hear the news that four pirates were captured nearby, and said pirates come knocking at their door late at night. James is at least as surprised to see them as they are to see him.
