Just remember that one scene in season 3 where Chim teased Buck about his college admission essays saying Maddie wrote them instead, like Buck isn't smart. I would love to see a fic where Buck quietly confronts Chim and tells him that Maddie had left, his parents thought he was dumb, but he got into some really big league school like Stanford or Princeton and was smart enough to graduate early. Buck isn't boiling mad, he's hurt and just asks Chim not to make a joke about things he doesn't know.Series

Buck tries to hide his hurt feelings but when everyone gets stumped by a particular question Buck answers it with ease. At the looks of disbelief he gets Buck just shrugs and reveals that he had a chance at med school before his dad almost beat him to death and he lost his chance. Buck is in no mood for apologies. Prompt: On a quiet day at the station Buck finds a box by the station. Inside is the most adorable little white kitten with giant blue eyes. Poor thing is starving so Buck quickly rushes it inside. Rest of the firefam wonder were Buck disappeared and look for him. Then find him in a secluded place, cradling the tiny kitten as he feeds it milk with a tiny syringe. If Eddie didn't love Buck before, he feels himself fall all over again.

IT'S NOT LIKE BUCK MEANT TO KEEP HIS DYSLEXIA HIDDEN, it was just easier to not talk about it - everyone looks at Buck and assumes he doesn't have any insecurities, and he'll happily let them think that because it's easier than letting everyone know and talk about the things that make him feel subpar, so he keeps his mouth shut. Until Christopher. Buck would move the mountains for him and then some if meant making him happy.
