Winter looked up as his roommate—Qibli—burst through the door, a hastily folded flyer held tightly in one hand. Quickly, he shuffled his papers so the lyrics were underneath his schoolwork, and snapped “What?” at the freckled boy.
“‘Pyrrhia and Pantala Music Contest’,” Qibli quoted from the flyer he thrust in Winter’s face. “It’s our chance.”
(Aka that one human band AU that you asked for but I wrote horribly, so I rewrote it completely.)

A contest is being held for the twin cities of Pyrrhia and Pantala, and JMMA is entering two bands. Shiho, biochemist, hacker, and expert at navigating the law. Others as well, both hidden in plain society and living purely from the shadows.

For a series of asks on my Tumblr that started with: What if the Uchiha clan weren't know for their skills in battle? Their eyes would make them the best at jutsu creation, so what if they where know as a clan of nerds? They gain a reputation for being geniuses able to make a dozen A-rank jutsus on the spot, but they are more likely to trip and fall flat on their face then actually be able to attack you with the jutsu they just made up. They still pull a 'coup' that consists of them dumping the police on the rest of the ninja and taking over R&D.

Summary
Kakashi was born without a soulmate, but maybe he doesn't need one to feel like he belongs somewhere.
Or, the one where Kakashi thinks the only thing worse than being stuck with a Genin team is being stuck with a Genin team of soulmates. But Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke have long since learned the value of clinging on to what little they've managed to prevent the world from taking away, and they've decided that Team Seven is theirs. Sensei included.

Orochimaru makes an adjustment in his sales pitch to Sasuke in the Forest of Death and everything changes as a result.
The Leaf is corrupt, Team Seven is disillusioned and Kakashi suddenly has to figure out how to keep three overpowered Genin safe on the run when the whole world wants to take a bite out of them.A couple of steps to the side may take the path an entirely new direction, a few words chosen differently and the story may have an entirely new ending, and a small band of underestimated and untethered ninja who choose each other above anything else may shift the whole world on its axis.
