Summary
After his brother's death, Tobirama tries everything to fill the void in his heart, obeying Hashirama's wish that he live, but nothing seems to work. Despite the way his relationship with Hashirama had started to deteriorate over the years, he still loved him with everything he had. Not the way a brother should, he knows, but he was always careful to keep his feelings hidden.
Now, with his students grown up and the village in new hands, he goes searching through the multiverse for a Hashirama who can be what he needs. He doesn't expect to find one who can love him just as zealously, but is pleasantly surprised by this darker Hashirama who refuses to let him go.

Three centimeters. That’s how close he came to dying, Goto Ryuji thinks, fingering the spot on his neck where that Ant King’s pincer would have ripped right through.
Ryuuji loses himself in his own thoughts, a warmed sake- now chilled by the seashore winds- in one hand, when he spies something that is most definitely not the waves or the moon.
There- a flash of glistening purple- and a loud splash of water. There’s a transparent lavender fin that flips out and disappears into the water, easily as big as his torso. He spies a flip of a tail, and a distinctly humanoid torso rises up out of the waves, and he can’t stifle the shocked gasp that leaves his lips. The torso stops. Turns. And looks at him.
A pair of glowing purple eyes peer at him and blinks.
"Who are you?"

The air in the House of Hades is always static. Hours tick into days into nights into weeks, and time surely passes but Zagreus can't feel the slide of it. He measures change in runs through his father's domain, how many rooms ransacked, how much obol collected, how far he gets from the darkness of Tartarus's depths, through the heat of Asphodel and the cool breeze of Elysium. He measures time in the quickness of his blade. The slice of his spear. The deaths.
Gods don't need to eat. Zagreus still hungers.
