Inuyasha is winding down from a long day at work when suddenly he hears a loud crash from the apartment above him, followed by a feminine scream. Instantly worried, he doesn't think before rushing upstairs to check on his new neighbor.
“Aw…damn,” Inuyasha muttered and watched as a tiny smile lifted the corners of her lips.
He should have been offended – was she laughing at his suffering even in her sleep? But instead all he felt was a curious warmth blossoming in his chest that gradually spread outward and Inuyasha knew, right then and there, that his fate was sealed.

I’ve dabbled in writing fan fiction before but mostly for myself. This project started out very similarly. Lately I’ve been really into Inuyasha and am especially fond of the art and doujinshi drawn by Len. Recently I came to discover that one of my favorite doujinshi they made was based off of a fanfiction written by the talented Mizune-mei called My Life Before You. Unfortunately for me the fic was only available in Spanish with no English translation available other than copying it into Google translate. Doing that made it possible for me to at least get the jist of what was going on but sometimes the text was hard to follow… So I fixed it! Or at least I’m in the process of trying to. At most I’m adding a little of dialogue here and there and adding a few extra bits for clarity. My intention is not to change any major elements of the story but to write an enjoyable English adaptation. Many thanks go to Mizune-mei who without her amazing story none of this would be possible.
